So does anyone have any updates on the triple jump?

some pretty good efforts in the TJ, anyone see what happened in the 3k? Looked average.

Sadly no proper splits on the broadcast
Yep. They did have a pacing light however.
He his 1500 in 339-340. and 1600 in like 355.
The way I view it, he ran 340, 353. maybe 338 high.
7:33 for Cheptegei and 7:41 for Chelimo in second.
KOMEN
Goes to show that the wavelights are really only useful for 5k and up, where the pacing is more important than the speed. Here, they just didn't have it.
I do think the 5k and 10k WRs benefitted MUCH more from the wavelights than the new shoes. I think they should be DQ'd as a result.
Don’t have the splits, but they were close to pace until 2k then Cheptegei decided to pack the bags and jog it in.
Yes, Joshua Cheptegei has 10 minutes to return to the pit to complete his next jump.
Winning distance was 17.20. I don't remember who. Christian Taylor came up lame on his 5th jump(?) and passed on his last jump. Hopefully not an injury.
C'mon Rojo, he had super shoes on. Shouldn't he have run like 7:15 then?

this is wrong and stupid
But does he get to recheck his mark?

The cicada sign was wrong.

Nope, it's the correct take. Cheptegei's splits in the 5k and 10k were METRONOMIC. He basically had a pacer run the whole race with him, which would otherwise be impossible. Wavelights should be BANNED.

Struggling to understand the logic here.

+1 Much easier mentally + you get perfect pacing that you or another human would have to have the feel for otherwise. Btw Chep just chilled last 600
It was like the light sprinted away from them once McSewyn dropped off. Would have been interesting to have McSewyn stay in the race and see if could have still broken 7:40; he was looking good.
I enjoy Komen maintaining the WR because I beat him in a road 10K in 2013.

Running 60.5s per lap is not that taxing for these guys, the difficulty is hitting those 60.5s laps every single lap. Same goes for the 10k, where pacing matters A LOT. The wavelights give you a pacer for the entire race.
But, running 59s each lap is significantly harder, especially for a guy who only has a 3:37 1500 this year. With these shorter distances, the wavelight advantage becomes less relevant.
It looked to me like the pacing lights were off the last lap or so? Anyone else? I had my eye on the triple jump, but may have noticed this in passing.
