make yourself valuable by learning more than distance. network with sprint coaches who will probably be the other director/head options outside of distance. Volunteer at a big school that will give you the flexibility for part time work. I know economy sucks rn but the early stages of 90% of coaching careers revolve around working multiple jobs and shacking up with roommates. the other 10% were lucky/timing and/or knew the right people. Took me 6 years before I got my first full time. luckily I was able to work a part time job and do hair on the side. plus I had some family help if I needed some groceries once in a blue moon.
