The base of the GOP are growing older whiter and dying.
The base of the Dems are younger browner and growing.
Sadly I'm not sure when the GOP will turn this around. They are fractured and the country is bound towards a majority minority in which 1/2 or more of the GOP simply has no taste for.
I do not agree with 1 party rule no matter who the party is. I believe in compromise and finding common ground.

Can we all now agree this was one of the most devastating losses ever?
Trump got crushed by basement Biden who didn’t even have to campaign. He then drives a giant wedge between his already morally bankrupted party by forcing them to help him try to steal the election. Then he signals to GA voters, where he took his worst loss to Biden, that the GOP isn’t treating him well. That speaks a boycott the vote movement. He holds rallies where he barely mentions the Rs and only whines about himself. He calls up the SOS and demands the lawful election results get changed.
Soon after the GOP loses both senate races after holding the seats there for ages. Trump and the GOP get crushed by the mastermind Stacy, Warnock as the first AA to win a senate seat there and Ossof the youngest senator since Joe Biden.
So now Trump is out, GOP senate majority is gone, and there is no prospect of getting it back for the next decade. Oh yeah and half of the GOP house is about to go on record that they don’t like democracy. The GOP is fvking done!

Bumping for myself. I’m getting a ton of congrats on Parler for helping trumpers stick it to the GOP. As sad as those trumpers are, they at least seem to have moved on from Nov 3rd. The rest are just in disbelief and crippled by anger. There is going to be a huge scapegoat vacuum as the dust settles from this Senate loss.

Back as what exactly? A fiscally and socially conservative party aimed and re-attracting suburban voters or some weird re-animated corpse of Trumpist propaganda? You need to answer that question first as it has consequences.

I agree in principle but in practice there should be no compromising with seditionists. That's a line that can't be crossed. If we can no longer agree to play by the same rules, that it's not ok to put a crook over democracy and public health and safety, and that there are such things as objective facts, then finding common ground is a futile exercise. There needs to be a firm cleansing of the evils inflicting the right. The GOP must stop systematically lying to the base and undermining the core of our democracy. That isn't dependent on any Democrat compromising... they chose to let trump lead them and can decide to be better and fix this, despite the short term loss of power they will suffer. No system of checks and balances can work properly with too much collusion. Democrats have been rightfully attacking trump and the GOP's enabling of him. Surely they will happily support and welcome the GOP in doing the right thing by purging him and their gas lighting strategies.

Sadly those trumpers represent a good 70% of the R base today. These people haven't had any semblance of good leadership since McCain and Romney, but 2 people in a sea of rotten apples isn't enough to make a dent.
Sadly I agree with this. I am a pretty moderate D who would normally be who might favor split government and lots of cooperation/reaching across the aisle. That said, you can’t negotiate with terrorizes. We were within a stones throw of an actual despotic state never mind the humanitarian tragedy that has unfolded. The Republican Party is complicit in this and this should not and cannot be swept under the rug.
I don’t see how they get out of this honestly but one thing is for certain, they can’t be let off the hook.
