Trump did jack-sh*t to close the border in his first 4 years. The number if encounters with CBP increased each of his first three years, and only decreased in his 4th due to COVID.
Is Mexico still going to pay for the border wall? Or was that just another Trumpian lie you swallowed?
Illegal entry to the US is a minor misdemeanor. Like falsifying a business record (unless it's part of a second crime). The ones that commit violent crimes should be deported. If you actually look at the statistics, it's a very very small percent.
I don't have enough information to make an informed decision about fracking or expanded drilling for oil and gas. There are pros and cons, and I would need to research more before deciding.
Better than just being energy independent, the US should be a leader in energy technologies. That includes batteries and wind turbines and solar. Trump's opposition to anything not oil and gas turns me off, but I know Rick Perry was not the answer.
I also support ending the war in Ukraine (with a resounding Russian defeat). The US should do everything in its power to ensure that countries understand that you can not simply invade your neighbor because you want (or because you're an imperialist dictator named Putin). Trump's suggestion that the US should put the Chinese flag on F-22 jets and "bomb the sh*t out of Russia" "And then we say, 'China did it, we didn’t do it, China did it,' and then they start fighting with each other and we sit back and watch." makes it hard to take him seriously in any foreign policy.
Trump says "the Jewish state has never had a better friend in the White House than your president, Donald J. Trump" So, it seems unlikely that he has a realistic plan for a ceasefire in Gaza, especially based on his proposals for Ukraine.
The deficit DOUBLED in Trump's first three years (pre-COVID), and he added $8T to the debt during his time in the White House, while proclaiming he could eliminate the $19T in debt in 8 years. When Trump left the White House, 25% of the nation debt was incurred during the FOUR YEARS he was president. He was an abject failure.
Why anybody would vote for this moron is a mystery to me.
