that too simple for you?
You are confused. That is not an explanation for why this moment is so different that every other "conceivable moment" such that, in every other conceivable moment both parties would be pushing for resignation of the President, but this one particular moment sticks out as one where that is not happening. It's not even close to an explanation. It's actually part of alleged phenomena I'm asking you to explain to begin with.
What is particular to this specific moment in US history, such that this "tape" where the President is, in your words, "actively pushing election fraud," does not result in both parties demanding the President's resignation, whereas every other "conceivable moment in US history" would have such a result?
Do you understand what I'm asking? It's somewhat nuanced, which makes it difficult to answer for many of your B-level friends here. But you did post the Bernstein quote, as if it was something worth thinking about - i.e., you cited it with approval as it you understood it.
what is particular to this moment?
very high levels of polarization
a party that fears for the life of its members from imaginary troops of antifa.
a party that has won one popular vote in 32 years
a party that has decided to cast in with an authoritarian
a party that has chosen to prefer lies over truth
a party that has lost faith in democracy
a party that is actively trying to overturn elections.
a party that has abandoned many of its core beliefs in favor of a cult of personality
I could go on for a bit longer, but these things have made this moment unique and dangerous.
this is all new, at least in modern times.
