I wonder what recourse we have under the law to stop this plotting. I know he is history in a few days, but there is a principal here and he is walking all over it. Just like the impeachment proceedings, it's not that they envisioned he would be removed as much as it is to take a stand when wrongs are being done.

not going to happen, but would be a perfect 2020 moment if Trump is removed and then Pence pardons him, citing the Ford-Nixon precedent.

Holy, cow. I read the NY Times coverage and then The Washington Post coverage. The Washington Post coverage is vastly superior in every respect.

But it does say that in their opinion what Trump and his team did here is a moral lapse rather than an iron-clad legal one, and they mince no words, it is a major moral lapse that should alarm everyone. But not to the level to press charges.

The problem is that Pelosi has a razor-thin margin and doesn't want to put her remaining purple-district reps in more jeopardy in next year's midterms. So the House might not be able to pass the articles.
