hate Hugo fat cheeks fry acting like he is the only one to ever eat rice. Yeh bruh, we’ve all taken a rice cooker down to our travelodge before to have some fresh rice before London marathon, just like we have all taken a sh*t in the tiergarten before Berlin marathon. It isn’t new stuff. If you don’t own a rice cooker and you’re serious about marathon running you’re f*cked
Megan Keith 67:13 on debut in NY as well, that would be top 3 in UK Rankings in any year since 2020 (probably every year, but powerof10 is rubbish now) - topping the list a couple of times

I cook rice on the stove. I don’t know what a rice cooker is. I mean, I can guess it’s some kind of slow cooker thingy to make rice, but, I don’t know there was such a thing. Should I quit running?
Queen Becky Briggs 7th in the World at 50km. Can't wait for the vid.
I keep seeing loads of pics she's pumping out saying how proud she is to don a GB vest. Today she posted "7th at the world in my first ultra". Technically, this is true of course.
However, she fails to mention it's not a World Athletics championship event, elite marathoners never bother to compete at 50k, it's self-funded, it's not really regarded as a ultramarathon (certainly not a respected one) and there is no qualification event.
Also, her GB team mates took the top 6 men's places and the top 2 women's. Good for them, but Becky does not seem to mention this, and it shows the lack of depth!
I don't want to take away from the GB team, they are all strong sub-elite marathoners who I am sure grind every day. It's more the classic misdirection from Becky and lack of acknowledgment of her team mates! I am sure her fans will think she's legit world class, though!
I'm not necessarily pushing back on all of what you're saying (I accept caveats if looking at some of raw times) but let's give some kudos to Alex Milne. New European 50k Record holder, 50k world champion, 2:11 at Seville a month ago, dad, works, and all round top bloke. He finished 6th at Commrades last year (his 2nd top 10 finish there). Your reference to sub elite was with kindness, but I think it's worth giving some unconditional praise to Alex, and I'd argue he's outright Elite.
I know a couple of the others 2-6th men and women's team mates, even ones I don't, deserve some unconditional praise for team gold medals. Henry Hart one of them, improving his own Scottish national record.
Anyway, to repeat a poor joke I did yesterday, heard the new European 50k Record holder, Alex, learned everything he knows about running from his England Ultra Team room mate in 2024........And that's the closest I'll ever to get to a European record holder 😂

Fixed spelling, note I'm a idiot when it comes to running, Alex learned zero from me.
Microwavable sticky rice is often on offer. I'm not rich, miles away, but I find on race/session morning, I want it as quick as possible. 120 after waking I can have rice in my mouth. Don't know why rice cookers get so much love. I am approximately 6 mins behind Hugo for a half though. Maybe I should get one.....

Reply to "I don't own one" RE: Rice Cookers
It’s not even close is it? We have a clear winner.
Seems like Fent in particular chooses to fly out to Spain for flat, fast perfect weather courses rather than fight it out with his Brit peers in gritty, hilly, windy Bath. It was a great field there today. Surely he should have raced that rather than Alicante or Barcelona
Someone was looking for a RunningYouTuber in the older age group. The one I had in mind, but couldn't remember the name is "The Long Game" - 68-year-old trying to get fit for his 50th marathon.

just going to use this post to vent about powerof10. whoever did that redesign should be deported, it's absolutely appalling now compared to how clean and functional it was before

Kudos to Alex and the other members of Team GB, very good performances, but the fact remains few, if any, leading athletics nations sent decent teams to the competition. But I like Alex, he gets stuck in and races a lot, hopefully helping Herc in the road relays. Whats his you tube?

Agreed. I do get your point. Would Alex beat a trained CJ Albertson? I'm not answering that, but only out of loyalty.
No YT, admittedly, yes I went off topic, just to because I was on the defensive regarding Team GB at 50k.
while RTJ is making his runs public again on Strava following the YT upload, looks like a big down week in mileage. half think he pulled something again (would be out of character to not be running at least a little, even with the move. although may still be hiding some sessions)
He’s on the road to london podcast for easy double and claims it was just hiding for the youtube announcement

It's shocking how backwards it has gone, traded amazing functionality for a visual redesign. It is worse in every way possible, I'm yet to find any benefit of the 'upgrade'

Yes, it's horrific in many ways. A shiny façade; however, completely unusable.
One of the first rules of web dev is not to change the paths of the pages. They've done this, so when you Google a runner it comes up with dead link.
The Welsh runner taking sponsorship deals and now posting ads on Strava for the Huawei watch. He got called out in the comments "Getting ads on Strava now 🤦♂️" which had a lot of likes. This has since been deleted this morning lol.
Makes you wonder how many comments these shoetubers are deleting.. I've heard that the Huawei watch is useless anyway and the GPS is terrible. People will shill anything as long as they get some money in their pocket
