One might assume that Trump usually sounds at least a little less stupid than his average mouth-breathing supporter. But then you’re reminded that he yelled (more than once, I think) at Zelensky, a guy without nuclear weapons and hanging on by a conventional thread against an aggressor with nuclear weapons, “You’re risking WW3!!!”

And even if they did, and a wider war was started, it STILL wouldn’t be Ukraine’s “fault” for vigorously defending itself.

NATO encroaching on Russia - and in particular, Ukraine possibly joining NATO - caused it. That was Russia’s red line.

This is total BS. That “red line” garbage argument can / could be used to justify Russia invading Poland and the Baltic states as well. The USSR failed and Putin has never gotten over that fact and has spent the last 20 years trying to essentially resurrect the iron curtain. Ukraine originally inquired about NATO membership in 2008—Putin did not invade then—so why was 2014 and 2022 different?

Nah, I’d prefer to live in a world where a sovereign nation even THINKING about joining an alliance fully justifies a brutal and enduring invasion by a neighbor.
