The numbers are also meaningless without comparisons to other Medicare payments. If a non-COVID-19 patient is put on a ventilator, how much is their Medicare payments? A fraction of $39,000?

This is a game changer people. Imagine what mortality rates really are if this study holds true to other areas?! This could end up less deadly than the flu and a large percentage of us could have already been infected. The 0.4 to 0.5% mortality rate of cruise ships and Iceland may be way too high let alone 6% plus we were originally worried about. The numbers are closing in on this being a huge overreaction.

If this Stanford study holds true and California already had a large outbreak of Covid the question becomes why weren't their ICU's overflowing and needing refrigerated trucks and stories of 30 yr old healthy ultra marathoners dying of unknown causes. This destroys the narrative!

Ok, so why isn't this comment banned, I see no source for this. It's also completely out of context as it does not consider increased testing. More tests equal more positives and is not an indication of increased virus spread.

I bet any of those states could have a 200% increase and they still would be much better off than if New York had a 10% increase, or am I missing something?

Funny how the deniers are using far more evidence from a variety of sources than those "true believers." It was once denied that the earth was round- never forget that.

Gore Vidal referred to the USA as United States of Amnesia- meaning historical amnesia.
