The Garmin InReach data logger is sending the Garmin data directly to Garmin's satellite, back down to the Garmin server to be presented on Garmin's webpage. You are not spoofing that. You seem to think that the way to spoof it is to get data pre-loaded onto the Garmin Inreach data logger, but that opens up other logistical concerns the conspiratorial team would have to confront, should surprise visitors show up.
Someone earlier already suggested one potential valid cheating scheme...a bicyclist is actually carrying the real tracking device, while the runner is in the vicinity in case visitors show up.
Visitors with binoculars could be a problem, IF they have valid realtime data to compare against.

At this point I think they've made it clear they don't care. They made up excuses like poor cell reception and the like. They can't provide near real time tracking because it would show Mimi isn't doing what they claim. So we're stuck with this fake record attempt with multiple gaps day after day.

Not a problem the PR gurus will find a way around any anomalies and spin it to the gullible UK media and public who lap up 'Marvelous Mimi the Record Running Granny' type stories just like they did the Young, Reading, Hughes, etc BS.
Sandy is having another good day. Should be close to 60 miles. My guess is she will call it a day in about 2 more miles. I will post when she stops. People can then check to see how quickly the Strava data gets posted, and how many photos she took.
I do not know how much effort it takes to link the photos to the map. I was able to download one of her photos and the metadata does not have GPS. Having GPS photo metadata on uploaded photos could be an enhancement to Pete's Gold Standard.
