Tom Scott from Ashland goes to Coker as head XC and track. Will Ashland ever spend money on an XC/distance coach to keep them around? Hard to build and maintain an established distance program with a rotating coach every couple years.

This is a a very attractive position open for a multi coach.
$40,000 a year and living in Ashland, OR, plus Southern Oregon has been highly successful.
I'm looking for a female hurdle/jump part-time assistant (I will still consider female distance runners that are looking to continue training and can help with office work as well). Job is very entry level as it only provides room and meals (19-meals per week in dining hall).

Thats surprising. They were ranked 1st in the nation for most of the year and he had a lot of talent, including redshirt freshmen Steven Kapes who ran a 29:50 10K. Why would he leave that?

they have a petition of over 700 athletes, parents, alums etc. Can't say i've ever seen this happen but they were gaining serious success fast so. you can read the petition here and under the community section there's a crap ton of comments from people

The guy in charge got rid of him. For real or phony reasons, it doesn't matter. That guy isn't going to rehire him. Even if he did, the coaching relationship would be strained and incredibly awkward.
If Barreau feels like he was wrongly terminated, file a lawsuit. But he should tell these kids to stop the petition. It makes the University look bad, and it makes Barreau look desperate and surely hurts him in his new job search (who is going to hire a guy who is begging to return to his previous job?)
The program is surely going to be negatively affected by the petition as it's going to discourage qualified applicants from applying, and it's really going to anger the head coach because the kids are picking sides.
head coach shouldn't let lil wiener feelings get in the way of a programs success. That is all this boils down too. Head coach insecurity.
