Yes, the North Florida athletes have been made aware Coach Van Alstyne is leaving...some happy, some not so much...

The bigger question is where in Morth Carolina did he go - UNC-Chapel Hill or UNC-Wilmington??

Why did Eli Sunquist get fired from ETSU recently? Wasn't he to replace Dave Walker?

No decisions have been made about the illinois job yet at least none concerning Gauson... Butler could really use a good sprints coach there is talent on track side that is being wasted. Roe (head coach) wants out as evident by his attempt at Purdue. His contract is up next year and the program is losing kids left and right with good to great talent because of the way he has run team for past two years. They need someone to come in and turn the culture around again. Some Good talent on sprint side thats being wasted/ let go right now... Program has good potential with brand new outdoor facility and moving to A-10. Could be great landing spot for a current assistant/ lower tier head coach looking to move up and bolster the resume.

Assist with practice and skill development of student-athletes

Assist with scheduling team competitions and events

Assist with track program budget management,

Monitor academic progress of student-athletes

Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

Coaching elite track & field athletes at the collegiate or professional level preferred. Experience as a track & field athlete at the collegiate or professional level preferred.

Skills:

Strong communication skills required

Collegiate recruiting experience required

Knowledge of NCAA Rules required

Behaviors:

Demonstrated behavioral expectations include:

Unquestioned integrity and trustworthiness. Adherence to university, SEC, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Commitment to the Athletics Department and University’s mission.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to foster teamwork.

Ability to work with diverse populations in a positive manner

Applicants should have the ability to project a positive image of the program and university, and dedication to academic/personal development of student-athletes
