Geneseo men ran really well. Cortland also ran well, just not Jerry, which obviously hurt them, but they still would have been 2nd.
Geneseo women totally dominate and Cortland runs realy well too. Brockport women totally choking. What a disappointing run after running so well at Oberlin. Even if Streeter was racing, they still are 3rd at best. And can McAneney ever put together a consistent season?
Congrats to both Geneseo teams. Exciting races to watch, and the cheer section was amazing. WTG Geneseo.
glad everyone can finally see that Geneseo is actually a great team. lots more to come.

Of course, there's a third major meet this weekend, the UAAs. NYU men will go for their 4th win in a row against serious competition:
NYU ranked 7th in D3
Emory 12th
Carnegie 19th
Brandeis 23rd
as well as the UR men, ranked 6th in the AR.
I don't know whether NYU can repeat, but I'm picking CMU to beat Emory--based on nothing, actually, except that the conditions (course and weather) are likely to be "challenging," as they say, and Carnegie seems to do well in such meets.
Anyway, the women's meet is gonna be the real barnburner:
WashU ranked 7th nationally
CWRU 11th
Brandeis 26th
NYU 28th
Chicago 29th
Emory 32nd
URoch 8th in AR
The WashU women have had a bit of a slump [joke], and Case will be at home; nevertheless, I'm picking WUStL for the win. The other places could be very, very close, with fourth and fifth runners incredibly important. Amazing to think that at least two nationally-ranked teams will finish in the bottom half of the field.
Okay, I was wrong about Carnegie over Emory, but not by much. I don't think Emory gagged, so much as CMU just ran tough. NYU guys solid throughout the lineup, in a very competitive year.
NYU women very, very impressive (and WashU looks like a real NCAA podium candidate), yet I doubt the Violets will move much in the polls because of all the other big meets this weekend.
So many of the pundits on this thread missed an obvious fact in the Geneseo-Cortland matchup. Geneseo beat Guelph (Canada) at the UWO meet in Canada (9/26). Guelph kicked Cortland's butt at the Paul Short meet by 230 points (10/2). Stands to reason that Geneseo would beat Cortland based on this common opponent.
All in all, it was a great battle between two exceptional teams today. Congrats to both programs.
Also from the UAA meet:
Rochester men put up another good performance, finishing very close to nationally-ranked Brandeis. They've impressed me with their consistency this season. They'll be a legit (outside) contender at Regionals.
Rochester women just didn't have the guns for that level of meet, but still competed pretty well. I think they deserve to stay in the top-ten regional poll.
I'm pleasantly surprised that Geneseo took down Cortland. They ran really well today. On another note, Fredonia really stepped up and Oneonta managed to beat Plattsburgh. I guess that kid touting Oneonta wasn't terribly off
hey vin.
People are allowed to have a shitty race now and then. It's called life. Get off the computer and get a life.

NO THER NOT!
so how about some regional predictions after this crazy weekened.
Can see a reason to not vote geneseo in front of cortland. Fredonia ran well too. NYU should stay 3rd I'd imagine...still hard to compare them to the SUNY schools. SLU looked to run an average race, while RIT seemed to look a little shaken up with Hardbarger finishing as their 7th guy. Ithaca looks like they ran pretty well too.

Well, I used to think that the old coach didn't know what he was doing, since their women often seemed to run bad at SUNYACs, but I guess now I can say it's just their women being mental...
how bout them regionals?
