You really are some kind or rare competitor for the daily SKOSSY award or else you live in a bubble if you are not routinely familiar with those with doctorate's of non-medical fields who are referred to as "Dr.".
The plane scenario you offered does lock in today's SKOSSY award however. So congrats on that.
Please give examples.
I'm sure in the republican countryside the only people with doctorate degrees are in medical fields, but in cities and suburban areas, the prefix Dr. refers to anybody with a doctorate degree, whether in education, science, technology, etc. Hell, I even know some doctors of business, theology, and Physical Education. All formally referred to as Dr.

You added an important element. As they went further down the rabbit hole or the more progressively crazier things that they found themselves agreeing with , the more dissonance it created for them to say they were wrong. They were too committed. (Use of the word committed associated them was an unintended though maybe appropriate pun - after all there is an element of crazy there))
Are you sure we’re not the same poster? More recently I’ve thought about their craze for trump like an abusive relationship. The abuser creates a deep and passionate connection to trap the other. Once they’re trapped it’s really hard to get out. The more beatings and abuse the more captive and helpless the person feels and the more empowered the abuser feels. Trump has been basically $hitting in his supporter’s mouths and open wide with pleasure. When others (Dems) try to explain to trumpers what has happened to them, they lash out and protect the abuser. Committed, trapped, hypnotized, imprisoned... it’s all there. What’s worse though is that these people have never met trump and have no dependence on him, so it’s just fkn pathetic that he was able to so easily and permanently fool them.
Yes many similarities with someone in an abusive relationship.........The big difference is that in an abusive relationship the person being abused isn't expected to send a $100 donation to the abuser.

Jill Biden is not a fraud for using the title of Dr. But in my experience , those with doctorates use the Dr. title consistently in the context of working in their profession but not generally for personal use.
But I guess its a choice.

I actually don't live in the republican countryside. Where I live just might have more doctors within 16 square miles than anywhere else on the planet.
Wow, Trump just made a very gracious concession speech. He said he wants to devote the rest of his time to doing everything he can in service of the very important task of helping with the transition of power to Biden. Trump congratulated and wished Joe Biden success as president.
He said he also wants to concentrate on dealing with the pandemic that has cause so much harm to this country. He gave a heartfelt warm thank you to his supporters but he told them its time for everyone to come together as Americans and to respect our democratic process.
He said its time to put our country ahead of any personal needs.
Also in a different story, Santa was found to really exist.
good lord what will happen here. C. a quarter of the nation is no longer democratic. it is so terrified of the future that it would instantaneously convert to dictatorship to preserve the status quo.
Another crazy part is that these Rs are making...$174,000. Good salary, but not that great really. it's not about money. They are ideologues, which makes it harder.
“The Republican Party has adopted an attitude that if democracy helps them be in power, then, fine, they’re for democracy. If it blocks them from being in power, they’re against democracy,” said Stevens, whose book about the president’s takeover of the GOP is titled “It Was All a Lie.” “I don’t even think it’s that they are afraid of Trump. I think it’s that they think that this is going to further their ambitions.”

Keeping you on your toes. Also, your side is confident Biden is morally superior to Trump. I simply question that assumption. Apparently I am not alone.

Although the abuser often even controls their finances... trump owns these fools as much as he has them believing he owns the libs.

Oh the smart ones are making a lot more than that. It’s also about power.

NYT says we have 356,000 fewer souls than we should have.
COVID and indirect COVID (not taking care of other medical problems, etc.)
I suspect there is a force on the other side too, though...fewer driving miles will equal fewer deaths. So probably covid killed many more than 356,000 but maybe the shutdowns saved some number.
