Oh he DOES have the power to influence our government. Not only does he serve on the Judiciary committee but he CHAIRS the Intelligence Modernization and Readiness Subcommittee, which oversees overall management of the Intelligence Community - i.e., all 17 United States intelligence agencies.
Just because he's on some committees doesn't mean he has the unilateral power to grant favors for foreign countries.
There are 435 members and except for Pelosi, the Squad and Trump fanatics like Jordan and Gaetz, they live all live in obscurity.
BIDEN NEEDED BIG TECH CENSORSHIP AND CHEATING IN PA, GA, AZ & MI to win.....
With news Wednesday night confirming that President-elect Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, is indeed under federal investigation, conservatives quickly pointed out that this was a story the liberal media and Big Tech suppressed in the weeks leading up to the November 3 presidential election — and cited the Media Research Center’s exclusive research to demonstrate the impact of this censorship.
The MRC commissioned two post-election polls proving how the media cover-up of the Biden scandal affected the outcome: a nationwide McLaughlin & Associates poll of 1,000 Biden voters found 36% were not aware of the scandal, and that 13% of these voters (or 4.6% of Biden’s total vote) say that had they known these facts, they would not have voted for the former Vice President.
A second poll of 1,750 Biden voters, conducted by The Polling Company, zeroed in on just the crucial swing states. It found nearly half of these voters (45.1%) said they were unaware of the financial scandal; if they had known, 9.4% of Biden voters told us they would have abandoned the Democratic candidate, flipping Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to Trump, giving the President a 311 electoral vote victory.

Trump's addicted to Diet Coke--does that count?
In 2016 Trump's election was influenced by Russian interference.
In 2020 Biden's election was influenced by US interference.

Uh huh. "Overall, we rate Media Research Center . . . Mixed for factual reporting due to the promotion of propaganda, pseudoscience as well as a poor fact check record by their primary sources."
There are polls and polls, and the (alleged) background information given for a particular question can affect responses mightily.

"I'm no lawyer, but I suspect the Supreme Court swats this away. From the brief, it looks like a fella begging for a pardon filed a PR stunt rather than a lawsuit—as all of the assertions have already been rejected by federal courts and Texas' own solicitor general isn't signing on," Sasse told The Washington Examiner on Thursday, commenting on the long-shot effort to overturn the election results in the four battleground states to benefit Trump.
This kind of relates to our previous discussion. Over 100 Republican congressmen signed a document indicating support for a case where votes should be thrown out. And having the supreme court award the presidency to Trump. It is a total denial or ignoring of reality. Trump lost this election. That is reality.
Although reality denialism has always existed, I have never seen it so wide spread in the general population AND so widespread even among some educated and elected officials.
What the Republican congressman did, is to attack our democracy. They felt no shame over it either.

the R party isn't in favor of democracy if it can't win. That's all there is.
I really don't know where this is going to go.
I suspect voter suppression will hit massive, massive levels in 2022. Anything to stop black people from voting.

Well, we may not have to worry about Texas for too much longer.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/texas-lawmaker-to-file-bill-calling-for-vote-on-secession-from-us/ar-BB1bP4Eg?li=BBnb7KzLot's of good music from Texas, but besides that there's nothing there that I'll miss all that much. They're a "taker" state, so losing them might lower my taxes a bit. I guess we'll have to move the wall, though. Don't want those Texans running across the border into the USA.
You've got to laugh at a Republican lawmaker citing dissatisfaction with the federal government as the reason for secession, when the federal government has been controlled by Republicans for the last 4 years.
"The federal government is out of control and does not represent the values of Texans. That is why I am committing to file legislation this session that will allow a referendum to give Texans a vote for the State of Texas to reassert its status as an independent nation," Texas state Rep. Kyle Biedermann (R) shared on Facebook on Tuesday.
With News of Hunter Biden's Criminal Probe, Recall the Media Outlets That Peddled the "Russian Disinformation" Lie
The now-validated facts about Hunter are precisely those the U.S. media -- in tandem with Silicon Valley and the intelligence community -- suppressed based on lies.
They spread 2 CIA lies: 1) the docs were "disinformation" and 2) this came from Russia.
"That’s the choice these media outlets made. They got the election outcome they wanted. But they and their reputations and legacy will have to live with this choice."

Another day, another U.S.-brokered peace deal.
Following United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan, Morocco has become the fourth country since August to normalize relations with Israel in a Trump U.S. brokered Peace deal. Including the Serbia-Kosovo economic normalization, that makes five historic deals just this year.
Number of Peace Deals signed by the Obama/Biden Presidency: Z E R O
In addition to the historic number of peace deals the U.S. has led under President Trump’s leadership, he’s also the first president since Jimmy Carter to not get the U.S. involved in any new wars.
2002: Biden votes for the war in Iraq.
2010: Biden claimed Iraq would be “one of the greatest achievements” of the Obama Administration and that people will see “a stable government in Iraq” just a few years before the rise of ISIS.
2011: Biden opposed the raid that killed Bin Laden, telling Obama “don’t go says Joe."

Conducting a military action in another country without its permission is a big deal. Biden wanted further confirmation that Bin Laden was actually there before agreeing to the raid.
In regard to the Iraq War, there was incredible pressure on the senators and 76 of them besides Biden voted yes. Everyone opposed to invading Iraq was accused of being an appeaser.
The vote wasn't actually a direct approval of the invasion; rather it was an authorisation for Bush to use military action if needed.
Texas needs to shut up. Trump won Texas by less than a hand full of votes. Perhaps Biden should challenge Texas results.

And it should be noted that Trump waited 3 years to take out Soleimani and passed on many chances to do it earlier. I'm not saying that killing Soleimani was the right move, but Trump felt it was the right move and yet he still waffled for 3 years before pulling the trigger.
Regarding these "peace" deals, Trump is picking off the low hanging fruit. And he may have bartered advanced weapons to the UAE in exchange for the UAE-Israel deal. The fundamental conflict among Israel, Iran, the Palestinians and Iran's surrogates still remains and, if anything, is farther away from a peaceful resolution than when Trump took office.
Biden’s Bad Foreign-Policy Ideas - The Atlantic
"Joe Biden has been wrong a lot on foreign and defense policy. A lot. This year’s presumptive Democratic presidential nominee voted against the 1991 Gulf War, in which the United States and a broad multinational coalition quickly achieved their goals, and in favor of the 2003 Iraq War, and regretted both votes. Years into hostilities, he opposed the troop surges that brought some stability to both Iraq and Afghanistan and even insisted that “the Taliban per se is not our enemy.” He argued for carving Iraq into sectarian statelets even as Iraqis voted for cross-sectarian political lists. And he opposed the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. These stances suggest not only that he lacks a philosophy of how to use military force effectively, but also that his instincts on when to use it are often faulty."
I think most of us can agree that the Dem and Rep foreign policy establishment got a lot wrong in the years after 911.
But must keep in mind that it's the Rs who started all the desert wars. Obama was handed two wars by the Rs. He had a bad set of cards.
Trump responded by increasing the killing of afghan civilians by an enormous amount.
We'll see what Joe and his team come up with.
But we shouldn't think that clever diplomacy can deliver peace...not in this world.

Biden's decisions regarding Iraq don't really matter. Invading NK or Iran is out of the question and would never be approved by Congress. Trump was far more likely to have approved a military strike against either country than Biden will be.
Hey hey hey

He is currently under investigation by the FBI.

Probably best if they all just shut up about it.
WILMINGTON, Del. — President-elect Joe Biden appeared to blame the "defund the police" movement for contributing to surprising Democratic down-ballot losses last month, telling civil rights leaders this week that they should proceed carefully on criminal justice issues.
"That's how they beat the living hell out of us across the country, saying that we're talking about defunding the police. We're not. We're talking about holding them accountable," Biden said Tuesday in a virtual meeting with civil rights leaders, according to audio excerpts posted Thursday in a podcast from The Intercept.
