Just watched the RTJ podcast with that aussie bloke. Decent watch, mostly the same stuff we already knew (it seems this Aussie bloke barely knew who jake was or much about running).
But one thing that did strike me was jake talking about how injury resistant he is and how he barely gets injured. This is great and all but he blew up in Tokyo 25, missed Rotterdam 25 (not strictly his fault), blew up in Valencia, injured/"planned" blow up in Tokyo 26. Maybe he doesn't count these as injuries but they're obvious examples of poor training load management costing him.
I also find it hilarious that he does all his S&C work with a schoolbag fulll of rice. All these other runfluencers will tell you that you have to do these 500 exact exercises in a £400 a month gym or your legs will explode.
McCarthy will be back in battersea park very very soon after a stint in ‘Syders’ as she call its. Then again, I forgot she had a stressy. Watch out roads, be wary of a cyclist screaming ‘beaaaat the boyz!!!”. God forbid.
Another female run account came up with the beat the boys tags on a 75min half in my feed today, not sure if she is friends with Mary and it’s a homage or if it’s just some form of weird plagiarism of a really stupid slogan. Full grown adults.
Good point bringing them up. Allie Ostrander and Spencer Brown both built pretty solid running channels, especially with the mix of training insight and honest updates about racing and injuries. The Athlete Special also shows a lot of the college and pro running world that most casual viewers never see. If someone is making a list of running YouTubers it would definitely feel incomplete without those two in it.
I've seen some pretty cool stuff on patreon by artists and musicians and the like, but i struggle to imagine what running youtubers are offering that isn't done better at your average rec running group at a significantly lower price point. Wtf are they sellling in there, national secrets? Surely it can't be feet pics.
Why on earth someone would pay for patreon just for an account that calls out tiny following runners or just hybrid athletes I’ve no clue. It’s even less understandable than paying for a runners account.
They’re gonna block you soon, under it all they’re a soft influencer wannabe and that’s exactly how they deal with being challenged.
Yeah - it's pretty clear they haven't got any genuine intention of posting about Ben Parker as is. Absolutely clear what's what with his 'case' as it were, they're playing for time and hoping people move on if they stall enough.
Reckon they're happy going after influencers - especially smaller ones because the chances they get any legal challenges are tiny. Even for larger influencers are you going to worry about going to court for a few seconds on an insta post given how that will make you look. They're scared to go after Ben Parker on his dubious marathon pb claim because he's so intertwined with Runna itself - it's been used as marketing on the website, for his appearances, and on their social media - and Runna will absolutely have legal teams across various continents.
Imo nothing to be afraid of legally, clearly easy to make the argument that his run wasn't 26.2 miles from the gps track, counting the laps etc. Everyone knows it's not a 2:34 marathon, Runna and Ben Parker will absolutely not want to go to court and have to explain the blowback to having that pointed out to them. The reputational risk is just too high, it's why on that reddit thread when he came to defend it he's stopped replying to the specifics of the claim. As soon as you have to go into detail it's fairly clear that he didn't run 26.2 in 2:34, and every detail you give takes you closer to having to admit that.
Australian mobile number linked to the account, and email address suggests name/surname beginning in W. Search OMTIU followers with a “W”, who also follows them back and is based in Australia. Won’t name names but the list is short.

I don’t think it’s legal fear, they won’t call out laps of battersea park as 5k pbs for the British runfluencer gang, it’s genuinely they just hate hybrids and small influencers are low hanging fruit. They’re a fan boy of anyone else.

Can you give us a rhymes with cause when I try search it’s not working, followers 2.5k pages🤣

Need to amend your claims a little. RTJ "blew up" in Tokyo 25 because it was hot, not due to training load, and he still ran a 2 minute PB. He lost Copenhagen, not Rotterdam, after falling and developing an infection in his left arm. Neither of these had anything to do with his training. Now Valencia, that seems more probable to be an over training issue, but he later came out and said he was sick the day of the race as well. As for Tokyo this year, he seemed to be on track until the knee injury hit. In my personal view, he probably does too much mileage. It is part of his "claim to fame", I could be wrong, but I think his results would be better if he cut it down a little and rested some more. But he will do what he thinks works for him. His weight training is definitely simple. A real gym would probably be better, but again he is doing what he thinks is best for him.

Theres no's W's in the first couple hundred follows if you checkchronologically. First 50 or so are all pros/influencers, no randos whatsoever. Interestingly for the conspiracy theorists amongst us, Runna was in the first 20 accounts followed and Motional intelligence was in the first 100.
She's been talking about her Boston plans a lot with Kara Goucher on their podcast called Nobody Asked Us. It's a good listen. She was going to go to Boston then run through Africa in some sort of multi day ultra (guessing geopolitical strife may have cancelled the Africa race). She said she did a small workout with her husband for the first two or three miles of the Disneyworld Half. Then she decided she wanted to race around mile 4 or 5, so locked in from there and ran a 76. She thinks she could've beat the male winner if she had committed to going all out from the start. She also says she'll probably enter and run the US Marathon Trials if she she hits the OTQ standard. She doesn't consider herself a pro on the roads anymore but seems to still be having fun. She's kind of a hybrid influencer/pro these days, I guess.
Before New York, she was clear that she had paid for the bib.
Kara was going to run the 5k, but her son has a race so she's not going to Boston. She wanted to race a 5k in London but she can't find one (she should do a Park Run!).
We snark here, but give this thread some credit for being fair to Des and Kara. The other blogsnark thread rips them often for some reason.
And for whatever reason, they do NOT like caitlynmillerfit. I enjoy her content even if some of it is over the top. She's not harming anyone.
I will never understand all the people who glaze floberg. He is a clown and a scammer pocketing $50k from bs coaching services from clueless idiots who idolize him foolishly. Dude doesn’t even know how to train an is a wannabe chad bro who sold his soul to BPN like a suck up and feels the need to embellish his running and family life online in every faucet possible to prove to everyone he is a father, husband, and also a runner. So cool dude. You know someone is an egotistical insecure grifter when they feel the need to continuously broadcast how epic of a job they are doing at being a family man while also running. Hint: it’s not that hard when you don’t have a real job and are easily pocketing big income from typical bs photography e-courses and worthless coaching services that people could do themselves from a standard training book instead of being conned into $150 per month. Screw this “creative” fraud
I'm just surprised Floberg hasn't found sirpoc...or has heard of him. Guy has legit talent but if he's training dumb I'd love to how fast he'd get if he did something like NSM. Again, it may make his ego even grow larger though...so maybe not lol

You seem to assume Floberg has made any attempt to understand running other than read Pfitz. He is not interested in running. He is interested in the grift
