Trump and the Republican Party have shown that America is now two separate and irreconcilable countries. Biden's presidency only delays the inevitable. Just as we saw the dissolution of the former Soviet Union we will see the dissolution of the United States of America - the decline and fall of a once great power.
Not in the near term at all, and not a steady decline from here either. Trump was a populist. Populist candidates last one election cycle, and then they are OUT. This was a last gasp by many white Americans to try to hold on as long as they can to being the majority race, and that fell flat. Many of them will go back to their hollers and never vote again. Progress will continue to be made both in the Democrat Party and whatever the GOP turns into. NEVER is a long time, but this country will see great diversity and prosperity and even harmony before we ever go down a Trumpian road again, and that will be well after everyone on this planet today is no longer alive.
You are assuming the divisions can be repaired, when every indication is that they are widening. "A house divided cannot stand" - and the US today is as divided as at any time since 1860.
