I think M.A.G.A. is old news now. M.A.T.A. would be Make American Trump Again, a good slogan for 2024, and easy to make the same $50 red hats with a change from Great to Trump.

Yeah, I appreciate standing up for one's principles but I don't think she is blameless here. Not as bad as the continuing election grift from the Trump team but a similar mindset IMO.

Yeah she's not blameless but there are a couple of things that we should all find disturbing. 1. The reason for her termination. 2. DeVirus has been desperately shutting down COVID reporting (not debatable) and she's in the way. The main thing they wanted was her phone and the reason is to identify the whistleblowers that have been feeding her information.

She is accused of gaining access to a system she's not allowed to but it remains unproven. Also, she never claimed to be a hacker, that is just what DeVirus has been calling her.

I'd say he's the current owner of the GOP. He ceases to be the owner if either he wants to or a bigger blowhard takes it from him. There is no sign of the latter happening. If he is eligible to run the nomination is his. He won't be able to run though. We might have a situation where red states find a way to put him on the ticket but blue states won't have any of that. The GOP must be scared to death of him not going away after January.

I feel sorry Dan Gable had to receive this award from the biggest loser traitor in US political history, but hey it could have been worse.

The GOP has turned FL into a lawless state. The combination of trump, DeVirus, Rick Gaetz, Rubio and other enablers has corrupted that state for the foreseeable future. FL is going to soon join some of the other deep red states that sit at the bottom of every index and serve mainly the purpose of doing the opposite of whatever Dems are pushing.

I think it'll take much longer to reach some critical pivot point. I think this election would do it, but then the trumper-infested GOP outperformed (including trump IMO). They have a winning formula under trumpism that will need to be retested before there is a clear change. We will see many horrible R candidates challenge Dem seats in the House in 22 and probably win the majority. And yes, I believe they will be very much echoing trump's approach if not openly still adoring him. That takes trumpism to 24 and with a slightly more bearable candidate they can control the house, senate and WH again. Trumpism is not going to die soon.

Well, selling a building (most of which he doesn't own outright) isn't that easy for him. He was just shot down on an attempted sale which he seemed to really need. If the NYT's reporting is somewhat accurate, he's got to repay about $1B next year. I smell a bankruptcy filing.

BITD I got a medal from Spiro Agnew, standing in for Little Richard Nixon who was out of town.

This was early on, when we just thought Agnew was a buffoon and not an actual felon.

At the time Agnew gave a very graceful and gracious speech (probably penned by Bill Safire) and I had to alter my opinion of him. He came across as a very intelligent (also very big) guy.

Happy for the medal and the recognition; in retrospect, not thrilled with the bestower or the guy he was substituting for.

Yeah, clearly the tv show finally gave him real solvency but of course he blew it and got a lifeline with the presidency. All we have to do is defer to history. In the 90s a lot of people looked at his casinos in NJ and could not imagine him going bankrupt... well, we all know what happened. He is most likely in the hole and will blow up when the debt avalanche hits him next year. If he can manage to throw together an income generating project it's possible he lands some high interest bank loans to keep him afloat just for a while longer, but I suspect the scrutiny is going to be massive before anyone lends him another dollar.
