Yep, it would be a brilliant ending to their Senate run. Imagine, after Mitch outsmarts the Dems for so many years they go on to lose the majority by falling on their own knife... I am concerned that now trump has flown over there and is telling the base to vote for the Rs. The ending of Dems getting both seats is just too good to be possible :).

It's turned into such a fiasco that the GOP may actually get Kemp's head if both Rs go on to win their elections. It will be seen a proof that once again trumpism is the way to go and the GOP will have a license to kill. I think this is partly why Trump is even bothering to help out, so he can show he still has value.

As I overheard some people chatting when I was in FL earlier this year - "look around, trump banners and hats everywhere you go! This guy is a genius. It's just not possible that he would lose." Gullible people are just that - gullible. A picture of a few hundred people tightly bundled together at a rally easily convinces them that it's millions and they must be there for a good reason. Not once did they stop to think that even if tens of thousands attended each rally that is far from giving any close representation of the potential number of voters. They didn't once stop to think that of course, only trump-loving idiots would subject themselves to hours-long drives, vendors stuffing China-made trump junk down their throats, standing in freezing weather with no access to bathrooms - just to get a glimpse of a "man" with orange make up plastered all over his fat face. These people are incapable of coherent thought.

China’s trade surplus widened to a record in November, as global demand for the country’s goods grew even more robust.

November exports were up 21% from a year earlier, the General Administration of Customs reported Monday, accelerating from October’s 11.4% and beating economists’ 12% forecast. Imports were up 4.5%, slowing slightly from October’s 4.7% and short of the 5.3% expected by economists. The resulting $75.42 billion trade surplus topped the record set in May, when a drop in imports was the major factor.

China’s exports have topped market expectations since the second quarter, when Beijing moved to restart the world’s second-largest economy after lockdowns and Covid-19 outbreaks at the start of the year. During the pandemic, protective gear and work-from-home tech products have served as pillars for China’s overseas trade, helping it gain global market share.

“Outbound shipments remained strong thanks to a surge in global demand for Chinese-made consumer goods such as electronic products. Exports of other goods were still much more subdued,” said Julian Evans-Pritchard, an economist with Capital Economics.

Trump administration officials passed when Pfizer offered in late summer to sell the U.S. government additional doses of its Covid-19 vaccine, according to people familiar with the matter. Now Pfizer may not be able provide more of its vaccine to the United States until next June because of its commitments to other countries, they said.

As the administration scrambles to try to purchase more doses of the vaccine, President Trump plans on Tuesday to sign an executive order “to ensure that United States government prioritizes getting the vaccine to American citizens before sending it to other nations,” according to a draft statement and a White House official, though it was not immediately clear what force the president’s executive order would carry.

That included whether it would expand the U.S. supply of doses beyond what is spelled out in existing federal contracts.

To the extent that Jim Jordan is capable of overthinking something, he's overthinking this. It's not hard to figure out what took place here. Biden got more votes than Trump, because Biden a decent guy and because Trump is disliked by most Americans.

"There are members who believe there could be value in having substantive debate of what occurred in states with substantial irregularities," he said. "I don't believe that 10 hours of debate on that subject would impair the union."

Is Matt Gaetz really going to waste Congress' time with a recitation of Sidney Powell's tin foil hat stories? There were no substantial irregularities.

Andy Biggs is right, the problems for the Republicans were at the top of the ticket. Specifically, their biggest problem was that their candidate for President was terrible and disliked by most Americans. In a state that was known to be getter bluer and which ended up electing a Democratic senator (to go with it's other Democratic senator), Biden winning is neither suspicious nor even surprising.

Ironically, when four years ago some Democrats in Congress wanted to object to the election, it was Biden who shot them down. We'll see how Pence handles it this time around.

Just a quick check of The Gap: back up to 9.2 percentage points. I don't think President Trump will ever plumb the depths that he did three years ago, when he ended up below 37% approval; but he's on a pretty steady downward slope right now (currently at 43.6%).

And he's pretty much a lock to be the only president, in 70+ years of polling, not to have had 50+% approval for even a single day of his administration. What a loser.

Jordan is a moron and it would take far more than 10 hours. Witnesses for both sides from 6 states would have to testify and be cross-examined.

Neither Giuliani or Jenna Ellis would be qualified to represent Trump and no real attorney would be willing to go in there without evidence.

The dance around the corpse that is American democracy continues. There is no "Union" when a former President, his enablers and party and 70 million voters have left the planet of reality and principle - never to return. American "greatness" has been shown to be the most threadbare of illusions.
