Funny how the media has announced that Giuliani has covid 19 based on Trump’s tweet that he has the China Virus.

Yes. As I've been saying, in ten years or so, electricity will be so cheap it's essentially free. But it wouldn't happen if Trump got another four years. We need the right government policies now to prepare for a prosperous future.
Anyone watch the warnock loeffler debate? Loeffler was absolutely horrible. Warnock performed well I though. Not sure it matters much but the contrast in speaking ability was striking.
You know you’re a political junky when you watch a debate for an election you’re not eligible to vote in.

I saw the last 20 minutes. It was funny when Loeffler tried to tell an eminent theologian that he doesn't understand the Bible.
But yeah, unless there was some gaffe I missed, the debate won't change anyone's mind. It's all about turnout.

I listened to the last 30 minutes or so...with the senator repeating 'socialist' 20 times without any pushback from the reverend.
I have no idea why Dems don't call out Rs when they call us 'socialists.' it's such an easily mockable thing. Just say 'Senator, conservatives have been calling people from my party 'socialists' for 80 years. When we fought for the 40 hour work week, when we fought for Social Security, when we fought for medicare, when we fought for civil rights for african americans, and now when we fight for medical insurance for everyone. Georgians who have been around for a few decades know that to elected republicans like Senator Loeffler, the term 'socialism' means 'policies that help the working men and women of America.'

There is no need to respond to anything. Trump-COVID infected Giuliani has completely shut down Arizona's republican dominated legislature for a least one week. AZ picks electors Dec 14th, exactly one week after the Rudy-mandatory quarantine.
Giuliani meet with Arizona republican legislators on Nov 30th.
Giuliani meet with Michigan republican legislators on Dec 2nd.
Giuliani meet with Georgia republican legislators on Dec 3rd.
Giuliani meet with Pennsylvania republican legislators on Dec 4th.
What will MI, GA and PA republicans do? Will they quarantine? or will they infected as people as they can?
Perdue and Loeffler are astoundingly terrible candidates. You couldn't design worse candidates. Rich jerks who profit on pandemic news while hiding the problem from their constituents? They didn't even try to hide it! Mr. Potter cut a more sympathetic figure than these two (and more competent, too). Even McSally in AZ ran a better campaign than these two. And it's not like all Republicans are necessarily bad candidates, even if I disagree with them. Collins knows how to run a good campaign, so too McConnell, Rob Portman and a few others. Yet it likely doesn't matter. They'll probably win.
538 has started an average of polls for the Georgia Senatorial runoff election, showing, unsurprisingly, that it's too close to call.

Dems need something special, such as enough angry trumpers to boycott the vote. Trump and klan may easily succeed in convincing enough suckers that he will win and they are all behind him. Both elections still favor the Rs IMO.

Yeah, they will probably win exactly because they are so awful. I will be the first to admit I was wrong and surprised if the Dems pull this off. If they win both seats, I think we can say without a doubt they have finally figured out how to win again.

The term is so negative that avoiding it at all costs, especially in states like GA, is probably the safest play. Responding the way you put it would confirm to a lot of people that Dems are socialists. Those people don't care what it means and it's pointless to try to explain, they just know it's "bad". It would backfire similar to Beto's taking away riffles comment.

you are probably right, but it's frustrating that 'leftism' or 'progressivism' is used as an insult and few stand up, jut out their chests and give a full throated defense.
I'm sure we've all seen lists like this, and some points are debatable, but each one brought charges of 'socialism' or 'world government' but we're all pretty darn happy they are in place.

I assume at least one if not both Republicans will win the Senate seats in Georgia based on the Nov 3 results.
Perdue got 49.7%. He almost locked it up. The Libertarian got 2.3%. That's an off-brand Republican - not likely most of those votes go to the Democrat.
In the other election, Warnock beat Loeffler 32.9% to 25.9%.
But the total was 49.% R and 47.9% D with 0.7% Libertarian and Independents filling in the rest.
Still a Republican edge.
But this is not Nov 3, it will be Jan 5.
And Trump is sowing so much confusion and distrust in the election among Republicans, we have no idea how that will affect turnout.
But this is still a Republican state that may want a Republican Senate keeping Biden (who they chose over Trump, in check.
I would be poetic justice if over indulgence in Trump support by Governor Kemp leads to Republican voters being apathetic in voting.

I'm sure I'll repeat this many times over the next few years, but not having Trump on the ballot isa huge plus for the Dems.
Look at 2018. No Trump, and the dems rolled to a massive blue wave. The polls were dead-on.
2020. Trump is on the ballot, and the Rs gained House seats and did far better than the polls suggested.
I think Trump has a hold on Republicans that is hard to exaggerate. They'll show up for him, but they won't show up for anyone else.
If I'm right, the GA runoffs could be better for the Dems than we think. Because Trump won't be there to get people to the voting booth.
Did they find the corresponding paper ballots as well? That would be a pretty complex process and interesting to figure out if the machines switch votes and also spit out a corresponding paper ballot, which are the basis of the final results.

It's a fact that the machines do not change votes.
This from page 4 of the brief filed in opposition to the lawsuit in GA which seeks to overturn the election:
Their claims would be extraordinary if true, but they are not. Much like the mythological “kraken” monster after which Plaintiffs have named this lawsuit, their claims of election fraud and malfeasance belong more to the kraken’s realm of mythos than they do to reality.
It should be noted that this brief was filed on behalf of Republican governor Brian Kemp and other Republican state officials who have been sued.
I don't know if this is really going to turn into a Republican civil war, but it's still funny to see them turn on each other.
Trump has lost at the polls. He's lost in court. His last hope is to somehow persuade state legislatures to simply ignore the vote and award the election to him, but so far no one has seemed interested in that course.

Maybe. It could be like not having Obama on the ballot was huge for Republicans.
Obama crushed it in 2008 and the Democrats had 60 Senators and the House.
But Republicans took the House in 2010 and eventually took the senate in 2014.
I still say there will be motivated Republicans in 2022 voting with complacent Democrats on the sidelines.
And Trump could be pumping them up with tweets and rallies of lies for years to come.

Their last shot will be to hopefully get it to the Supreme Court. If the court were to hand the election to Trump the constitution should be changed so that the SC will always choose the president from the two nominees.
