By the way: "Boldface" is preferred to "bold-faced" or "bold faced" or "boldfaced"--i.e. there's no final "d."
The term's metaphorical use derives from boldface type. A recent example in the news: "Biden has also chosen some boldface names: John Kerry as international climate envoy and former Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen as treasury secretary."
"Bald-faced," on the other hand, *does* have a final "d."
