We don't see consistent posts from Republicans who are ashamed of Trump like those who made the Lincoln Project.
The view of America is that all Republicans love Trump. He did get an amazing amount of votes for such an awful person.
I would like to see a lot of Republicans speak out against Trump.
I've been waiting for this for the better part of 3 years and still crickets. I don't understand why THIS is the man they want pushing their agenda.
History will not smile kindly on this era of Republican politics. And I have a feeling once the next generation or two move on from this earth, the generations that follow will remember and the republican party will begin to reap what they have sown.
Well, the truth is the base didn't ask trump to run in the first place so no they probably didn't prefer him initially... they would have preferred someone who could actually lead. But trump opened a huge door for them that no one had opened before. He removed politics from politics. Who else was going to do that? He cleared the way for "honest" corruption and as most trumpers would say "no bull$hit". He gave people the green light to be and say whatever they want with no shame or sense of accountability. And since most of them believe america is being taken down by the deep state that invitation to hate openly was more refreshing and powerful than anything another politician could offer. No one has ever offered more scapegoats to a losing group of people than trump.
