The problem with people like Phily and Allie O is: They always claim that they are pro runners! No, they are influencer and its nothing wrong with it. But both always uses the "pro card" for their content and oh dear, if sb is telling them they are more like influencers its the end of the world.
For them its all about the status of being a real pro and with that the lies are comming. Running a national championship race doesnt mean you are atomaticly a pro ;). A lot of amateurs/semi pros are competing there. But its all about the image.
I think Allie O's situation is a little different. Her time with the Beasts means that at one point she was a true professional runner. While I think she is primarily content creation now, I imagine that it's much harder to let go of the pro title. Phily on the other hand never was really in that pro category, she's run some good times, the 2:25 is impressive, but her revenue is and always has been primarily content
on a similar argument, wasn't Phily with the New Balance Manchester team a while back?

I find Ali to be fairly genuine. She seems regularly and give an honest account of her highs and lows.
Phily is different in the way she twists the narrative or allows her followers to mistakingly fill in the gaps. Her being stressed as an injured pro nearing the end her contract missing out on bonuses and prize money which make up a huge part of her income. When in reality the injury probably boosted her career with an increase in click bait leading to a fat influencer deal
The viewers forget that it is totaly normal, that a contract runs out, when there are no results in 1 1/2 year and a big injury, which nobody could tell if there are any results in 2026. Plus: When you are not a top star
The videos by Donato have helped me improve my running so much over the last 2 years. And not just my running. They have led me to being a better, kinder, more grounded human being.
I doubt you read this forum Mr D, but thank you. Just thank you
Absolutely cooked himself with that ridiculous Kenya trip, plus selling out to the UAE and soaking up all the slavery, then Tokyo marathon.
He can't have ever thought he'd run a good time at Tokyo or London, but gotta get the headlines for the YouTube videos and Instagram reels!
Agreed. Seems to have been hinting at going "full send" for London now too. Just suggests a real clueless approach and understanding of what's been holding him back.
No doubt he never really worked well with his coach, kept changing the sessions and weeks even when he was being set them before; but he really ought to go back to someone directing him. Otherwise he does one of two things - the same block with a 3*10km biggest long run and a load of other short interval workouts to get him to 2:20 fitness with him dipping seconds under once on an absolute perfect, unrepeatable day; or try and push extra mileage or saying yes to more things in a ran to Japan copying gimmick taking trips for money rather than training and burn himself out.
He was lucky to get sub 2:20 before imo, it'll be a near miracle if he does it again without some serious external support
I know trail doesn’t get much air time around here, but something very wholesome about watching Kilian plod around his house with his kid.
Also, his throw away comment about his States of Elevation project last summer being a 500 hour training MONTH, put the magnitude of the thing into perspective in a way the raw mileage and elevation stats had not.
RTJ hasn’t run in 2 days. When someone asked why in the comments, he has said ‘too secret project’
Beyond excited to see what this is. Obviously a long haul flight involved of some kind. Really hoping he’s off to the UK for a collab with Donato or Chicago to see the Floberg’s and Scotty.
He has taken running content creation to a new level. Never cared so much before about a runner. RTJ has made us all as passionate about supporting his journey as we are about seeing our football or gridiron club win.
He trains harder so we can been entertained. Boooom
In his latest video, Fordy Runs can’t work out how he missed out on a sub 40 10k in central London when his watch told him he was on pace. The man is a qualified running coach apparently.

Think he said he would be starting with the Japanese team after Tokyo but before London. Maybe he started training with them but is waiting for the "team reveal" video. If true, that would leave Callum Elson devastated

"I am a certified running coach!" Everytime....
Man, you can just do an onlinecourse and get a paper with this on^^.
I watched it too. He talked about doing a 21 mile long run in a 40 mile week....and doubles that week too. So I checked Strava. He was doubling, only ran 4 days so one really short day then two doubles.
I am baffled. He isn't 5k training here. I think he genuinely does not understand training concepts and specificity to events. I wonder does he set lunatic plans like this for his athletes.
He wondered why the long run messed him up too...when he's doing a few short doubles and it's half his weekly mileage.

It's the classic not really understanding but seeing loads of people doing 20 mile runs and deciding that alone is the thing that matters...
One of the guys on the local circuit is a fordy runs member, 2:28/70 guy - might try and subtly ask him what's going on behind the bonnet next race
