Sit back and watch whenever you can Sandy's Garmin updates. When she posts her Stava later today pick any of the photos linked on the map. Here is an example of matching up a photo taken with a Google street view of the same spot.
Don't expect perfect absolute matching of photos. The photos are from different time points so there some variations. But you can still match up buildings, telephones poles, the mountain contour, and the gas station.

Does it even matter since the Garmin InReach has a fully supported web API that lets you easily spoof real time GPS? You are fully missing the point of why I became suspicious of Mimi after initially saying I think her run is legit.

When log interval is buffered and at a higher rate of the send interval, there is a whole host of operations that can be done to present the integrity of the data, like uploading all data points taken from the previous interval, and then having a moving average of the data points performed 'in the cloud' before presenting; conversely, the moving average may simply be computed on the Garmin. Details on what Garmin is doing on this specific device may (or may not) be proprietary. You might give them a call to find out.
You guys are making this way more complicated than it needs to be.

2. Allow people to meet up with you and verify you're doing what you claim.

That data is sent near realtime directly to Garmin's contracted satellite. Are you saying you have the ability to hack their code, and Garmin has no hidden features in their data set to find suspected spoofed data after the fact?

I have been watching the position data of both ladies at several different points in time for at least the last 10 days. I am interested in how such events are documented, and also how legit they appear to be. The Sandy method (Pete's Gold Standard) is exceptionally good. Multiple methods of tracking. The more methods the harder to spoof (double Garmins, Strava, Photos, witness statements, random joiners during the run). Mimi's method is lacking, sorely so.
So, we have an "amateur" runner, running on a small budget, who is absolutely schooling the well-healed super "expert". The amateur is a PhD graduate. The expert is in trapped in middle school.

Pete's Gold Standard. That is what it should be named. It also includes photos, and witness statements. An enhancement might be use of surprise drone videos during parts of the run by random observers. Pete came up with an outstanding process.

Random boots that show up could use a Garmin to document the times and distance they joined for matched up.

Actually, I believe you are the crazy lunatic here.
I don't need to hack anything with the Garmin. Perhaps you should listen to me when I say Garmin provides a web API that allows you to spoof the GPS in real time because Inreach is basically just a GPS web service that can run on anything. And no, there is nothing to detect because Garmin provides the API to run on anything that can send the web request.
