Philly Bowden came in at 2.25:47 a PB ,negative split and better than she expected sure she will be over the moon with this well done!

Ben Felton (Ben is running) came in at 2.38:03 slowed a lot in second half.

Ben Parkes also slowed in the second half and came in at 2:55:30

Today the YouTube algorithm suggested one of SJD's videos from 4 years ago. Holy crap do I miss peak Seth. Sounds like some medical issues have cropped up that are keeping him from racing out of state. Hope his family is okay...

I also noticed that while he is putting out far less content, his views per video have actually gone up quite a bit with most in the 8k-12k views range in the past month.

I don’t miss that SJD garbage at all. It devolved into weird self-congratulatory nonsense, pseudo-science babbling presented as safe training advice, milquetoast product reviews, and wannabe televangelism with products to sell. Kudos to him for being a force in the local mountain running scene but he didn’t have talent, the discipline, or the intelligence to do any proper racing against real athletes in non-niche events.

I actually find his run videos with commentary quite watchable.

Used to quite enjoy Ben Parkes when he blogged about his training and what he was up to but now all he seems to do it product reviews and pretty lame top running tip type videos.

I know he's had a few injury issues but would he obviously has been training.

Berlin Marathon 2:55 - tough 🤪
Will never take running a sub 3 for granted.. but fitness is a long way from where I hoped. In the build up there was an experimental lower volume approach (with more intensity and gym) to manage possible injuries.. but today just shows there’s no substitute for high mileage with marathon running.. well for me anyway. So back to my usual training for the Valencia (goal race) build! Race video from today out soon! Lovely to meet so many awesome people this weekend, well done everyone and thanks Berlin and all the volunteers for a great race!

39-year old Seth is actually running closer to his peak than some of the shoetube pioneers based on the Berlin results today for Ben Parkes and Kofuzi.

He and his brother Joe ran some FKTs this summer and then ran in an event in Italy. Seth followed that with a second to Joe Gray in the Pikes Peak Ascent.

I don't really watch Kofuzi much anymore. Was he focusing on Berlin?

He might be running well, but since he's seemingly incapable of putting together a basic sentence, it doesn't make great content.

Major breakthrough by Bowden with a HM PB in 2nd half of race - though her HM PB is soft. Seems like this altitude trip brought on a load of benefits that her numerous previous altitude trips hadn't. So a bit like Jess Hull.

Matt Fox posted a 2x10k workout today @ 5 flat pace. It was point-to-point with a tailwind, so that may have helped.
