It's just more evidence of the deep state undermining the real patriot president trump. The courts are rigged!

I think it's very likely the Rs take the House and impeach Biden, but there is a solid argument against that thesis...that without Trump on the ballot the Rs don't show up. They love their spanky, and without him to show up for, they won't. While Ds are more loyal to their party.
Not sure if I agree or not, but it does make some sense, looking back at 2018, when Dems did so well.
After trump I don't think they can even threaten with impeachment talk... nothing Biden does will even get close to being ethically worrisome in comparison. But they sure will continue pretending Dems are destroying the country and trump will keep yelling on social media and perhaps even still retaining authority. And remember, most Rs think this election is being stolen.. they may still be angry enough about it to turn out in good numbers.
I read somewhere a while back that Stacy pretty much believes there is no way to convert any conservatives so the only viable strategy is to register new Dems and mobilize the rest. That's working in GA, something like 800k new registered Dems since 2016. But as far as mobilizing the rest, I'm not sure Dems are doing a great job. Trump mobilized Dems and many Rs to vote for Biden this time, but look at the House results... Dems suck.
1) I think you are right about impeachment talk. If Biden actually DOES something that is impeachment worthy, I will be the first one to call him out. His pattern of behavior doesn't suggest he will.
2) I think some of you will surprised at how quickly Trump becomes irrelevant. He was the Pet Rock, the fidget spinner, the crazy bands. This would happen even without the massive legal issues he is going to face, but when it is fully known how criminal and how he's not even close to as rich as he says he is, the fervor to support him will disintegrate. When good things happen, the party in power ALWAYS gets the credit, EVEN IF the groundwork for that success happened in the previous administration. COVID-19 vaccines being widely available during Biden's watch is what will be remembered...not that these two companies (so far) announced they had successful ones during Trump's presidency. HE will be remembered for botching the response to it.
3) I believe that Stacy Abrams (Miss Abrams if you're nasty; whatever that means) is right. Register new Democrats and mobilize.
4) YOU are CORRECT that Democrats failed to mobilize. Biden was successful ONLY because Trump is so monumentally horrible. I'm glad that Americans came to their senses about Trump, but Democrats have a lot of work to do.
5) As imperfect as the election turned out to be for Democrats, I think we need to also take a sigh of relief that the dictator wannabe is on the way out. It is ok to be happy about that. As big a problem as enablers are, HE was the biggest problem facing our country BY FAR, and he has been summarily rejected. Considering how divided we are as a nation, a 306-232 victory is pretty substantial. Biden is closing in on more than 6 million more votes than Trump got. There is not a person waiting in the wings with the narcissism and cruelty of Donald Trump. There is not a a person waiting in the wings who is as incompetent and lazy and stupid as Donald Trump. There's not a SMART evil one out there either. We got rid of a tyrant who would have done who knows what in an untethered second term. It's ok to be happy about that.

I've heard this [impeachment of Biden if the Republicans gain a House majority in 20220 before, but on what grounds would they even impeach Biden? It seems like since Clinton there have been whispers of wanting to impeach every president....even when there are no grounds to do so.
Alan
Remember that impeachment is a *political*, not judicial, act. A high crime or misdemeanor is whatever a majority of the House *says* it is.
I'm reminded of Newt Gingrich's response, when asked why the House was going to impeach Bill Clinton: "Because we can." GOPers will be looking for payback for Trump's impeachment, merited though it was, and few things would please their base more. They certainly have the imagination to come up with some semi-plausible pretext for impeaching whoever is the president.
In other words: Welcome to the Republican Party of the last forty years or so.
That's "...House majority in 2022]"--sorry about that.
Don't sleep on Don Jr. in 2024. He seems to try to be the Trumpiest of Trumps.

Yeah, I'm not so cynical to believe a Republican House would impeach Biden without cause or even a flimsy cause. I could be proven wrong, but I don't think so.
FFS
Trump is calling election boards and telling them to throw out the elections.
McCarthy is saying Trump won the election.
I think a Biden impeachment in 2023 is around 65% likely if the Rs win the house.
The Rs have thrown off all layers of rule-following. They will do anything to rev up the magas.

He will be lucky not to be in prison before 2024 let alone get people to vote for him for President. He's not his father. He doesn't have the ability to make people follow him.

No worries. I'm actually a big fan of yours.

He is but without the appeal of his father.
Little to no chance.

In following what I think will be challenges to certification in various states....either challenging results already certified or attempting to obtain injunctions (or whatever legal means to hold things up) to stop certification in states in which this has not been completed, Trump is now saying that the repub certifiers were coerced by the Dems to certify and that they now want to recant their vote.
At the very least this will lead the rubes to believe that the election is fraudulent....and it is working....and probably will lead to further unsuccessful litigation.

Agreed. Trump has 2 superpowers: utter shamelessness and an ill-defined ability to be a celebrity. Trump Jr. is certainly shameless but even he can't match daddy. No one on earth can match DJT in that regard. And he's zilch on the 2nd. Nobody would have ever heard of him if not for his father.

Word. This fool really scares me. He is literally Donald on coke. He would happily put on a bigger $hit show than trump did in the primary debates and the base would go wild for him. I know it’s hard to picture but that’s reality. He instantly has a good 65 million voters behind just by association to criminal dad. Trump is embarrassing but this guy was getting slapped around by trump and was peeing himself in college. America would finish imploding under him. Remember they also have the apparatus for kickstarting a campaign. All the swampy creatures will be ready to go in a couple of years. This is why I say the Dems need to hit them all fkn hard for their criminality. It’s gotta be boot to chest for everyone who thought they were above the law.

Those are very valid points but I think you’re all forgetting if the GOP embraces this guy he will have similar potential. And he’s not only obnoxious and shameless, he seems to be more evil and I’m assuming a little less brain dead. Without the GOP backing him, trump couldn’t have become POTUS. Remember how quickly Cotton and Haley came to trump’s rescue when Don Jr made a Twitter threat? Nothing can be left to chance, throw them all in the brig.
