So Trump lost in Wisconsin by about 20,000 votes.

He wants a partial recount, in two heavily Democratic counties where Biden beat him by close to 200,000 votes in each county. Trump's got to pay for this recount, and apparently already has sent payment.

In 2016, third party candidate Jill Stein requested a recount (unclear is this was the whole state or just certain counties) which ended up changing the vote count by a total of 131 votes.

Not sure what Trump is trying to do here. There's no way there will be a discrepancy of 20,000 votes in his favor. Seems like a waste of money, but maybe there's some benefit to Trump of delaying the inevitable. Or maybe it's just another poorly thought out move by him and his team.

I still disagree that he's a master salesman. He lost the election, and the guy that beat him got the most votes ever. Biden flipped 5 states on him. Again, look at all the side businesses he has tried to create apart from the core business that Daddy left him...ALL failures. You can't be THAT masterful at sales if you can't start one business that actually is successful.

Also, we are discussing his salesmanship now following his loss. Any salesmanship he has at all is greatly diminished following this loss.

Stop with the fraud talk. I'm not sure what Trump's end game is here, maybe he thinks he saving face by fighting. But it just makes him look more petulant, and it's becoming more and more clear that he has no problem hurting the country to soothe his battered ego.

It was a rivetting conspiracy theory until Trump couldn't follow up with a single thing that actually matters in a court of law lol. It's too bad it's very hard to prove that a person is claiming fraud that they don't truly believe in though. I'm all for the investigation, I think the recounts that happened and the fact that he's being heard out in court are the correct response just because there is no room for error here, but if Trump is lying through his teeth then he should go to jail for life. That probably won't happen but it'd be nice if it did.

What Trump is trying to do in those two counties is not a normal recount. He is going to demand his specialists be given access as zero-social distance observers with the ability to challenge any vote they dislike (meaning mostly votes for Biden while allowing votes for Trump with the same imaginary issues to be counted). Team Trump needs to "set aside" some 30,000 votes. Then they need to prevent anything being done with those votes until the drop dead date of December 1st. At that point, since it is not "clear" who won, the Republican legislative gets to decide who won.

He can claim that he took it to court or demanded recount. He can then claim court or people in charge of recount were against him too. Gives his low IQ supporters something to cling to. They don’t actually look into the details.

Nope. It is about trying to throw out votes. Try to keep up.

And in GA, the 2600 uncounted ballots in Floyd County were due to human error, not fraud. Trump ended up gaining 778 votes there, but he's down by something like 13, 000 votes total in the state so it won't make a difference.

Otherwise, the hand audit of votes being done in GA is proving that the initial vote counts were remarkably accurate. Where there have been discrepancies, they are discrepancies of less than 10 votes. And in 29 counties, the hand audit of votes revealed no discrepancies with the initial count.

So, no fraud in GA, and nothing that will save Trump there.

The GOP collectively gambled on him and it worked. He lost the election and they outperformed, it looks like they were playing him while letting him play the country to their advantage. I suspect they will avoid any major public battle with him while he is gone, but the real test will come when he is no longer an effective useful idiot. Will they reclaim their ownership of the party or will they allow the next blowhard that comes along to take the wheel.

I don't think people are giving enough credit to the GOP for his cult following. Without their full support he could not have run as free as he did totally unencumbered and unhinged. On the surface it can easily look like he high jacked the party, but the whole time they were just playing along. They were not resisting him one bit. They used him to grow their power with cover. Leading up to the primaries they could have severely limited his chances. Had most establishment Republicans rejected him early on they might have pulled off a Cruz, Rubio or a Jeb win (see HRC). And even if they couldn't ultimately prevented him from winning the primaries, he certainly would not have beaten Hillary without their full support.

It's what we all said all along. He found himself in the perfect situation with the stars aligning.

It's probably just to show something for their campaign theft. The mouth breathers can tell themselves the hard earned money they flushed went to some patriotic use.

Even if this is the plan and it worked, Biden still wins. Losing Wisconsin (which won't happen) would not change the EC margin enough for Trump to be declared the winner.

That being said, this is all still awful stupid stuff that serves to undermine confidence in voting and democracy in the US. Which may be Trump's (or the people who control Trump--i.e. Putin and Americans with no moral compass who only care about money and power) real goal.
