Yes there is. It's just higher than what you would want. ...
There seems to be increasing wage inequality in this country. I think it would be good to mitigate that, through either a wage subsidy or a UBI.
What I want? That is your assumption.
What I look at is how executive compensation works in other countries, and what I see is that the U.S. is an executive pay growth outlier. If executive pay increase in the U.S. were not so extreme (far outpacing pay increase for everyone else) then there would fewer people calling for a higher minimum wage.

It's amazing how awful these people are. Even if the GOP doesn't really want to do this, that they're only saying it to curry favor with Trump, it sets a terrible precedent. After all, the Republicans who actually have a say in this (the state legislators) are running away as fast as they can from the idea, rightly fearing voter repercussions (and possibly standing on principle). But they're going to get hit the next cycle by the Trump partisans, who may vote them out of office anyway in a primary campaign. Then we might have loyal Trumpists in state legislatures deciding things next go around. Say Trump runs again in 2024 (possible) and the race is close (likely). The Trumpists might go along that time. And what's to stop the Dem legislators from doing the same thing in states they control? What a disaster...
These people are either morons, fascists or cowards, possibly all 3.

That's true. Certainly that's increasing pressure for a minimum wage hike. I just don't know if such a hike would be counterproductive or not.

they are terrible people and bad Americans yes.
I'd like to know what it is that they are so afraid of. What exactly is it that they are so terrified of that they wish to subvert the 244 year history of American democracy. What exactly do they see the Dems bringing in?
Serious question.

Mostly just getting voted out of office. But I fear more and more are becoming true partisans, who genuinely think the Dems are Satanists or whatnot.

You should have nominated a stronger candidate in 2016. Unfortunately for you, Dementia Joe is an even weaker campaigner.
Enjoy your second consecutive loss.
Hi biff, taking care of your a$$ after that pounding? LOLz

Yes all awful but what really caught my attention was that Ron DeVirus might run in 2024. JFC but surely he will be far from being the worst of the bunch

You’d better never leave New York.
Patriotic Americans will be watching and waiting to charge you with treason.
You will be jailed, bankrupt and destroyed.
And patriotic Americans will rejoice.
Too late for this warning: Donald Trump has *already* left New York and now legally resides in Florida. Actually he made the change a full year ago.
Try to keep up.
David Perdue has chickened out again. He says he won't debate Jon Ossoff before the January runoff in Georgia.
Just another Republican wuss.
If these thugs refuse to obey the law, we should just lock them up.

the press needs to start calling them armed gangs, not 'militias'

I see what you did there.
"We would never accept that out of our own kids behaving that way if they lost, right? I mean, if my daughters -- in any kind of competition -- pouted and -- and then accused the other side of cheating when they lost, when there was no evidence of it, we'd scold 'em," Obama said.
At this point, this genuinely performance looks set to go down in history as the benchmark against all which all acts of being a bad loser are measured globally.
The only thing that might save him from becoming synonymous with that is later public disclosure of mental health issues.
The thought of putting in Trump-favoring electors in states where Trump lost...now THAT'S stealing an election!!
It should be obvious that I would also be against putting in Biden-favoring electors in states Biden lost.
In a sentence, the electoral college is an outdated crock of a system and needs to be replaced by the popular vote.

I'm hoping there is a serious push for that from the right... not a successful push, but a serious attempt. This way either some states will have to strengthen their laws to ensure the EC votes go to the winner or Biden will have to force the issue federally. Any progress toward a fairer process is a huge win for Dems and the country.
hard to argue with that wrote:

It is no wonder he's all bunckered up. He can't face much humiliation and prefers to live in his fantasyland. The question is how does he transition out of the WH without getting his feelings too hurt? This is literally what the GOP is most concerned with. Please don't hurt the snowflake dear leader! Beyond pathetic.
