And he congratulated Biden. We will see if this guy still calls the shots or if trump really took possession of the GOP.

Small point, but perhaps worth noting: A good percentage of people (Christians and non-) will say that, because Biden is Catholic--he'll be only our second Catholic president--therefore he's not a Christian.
The umbrella of Christianity comprises many groups, some of whom recognize only *their* group as "real" Christians--and a really surpising (to me, at least) number don't understand that Catholics and Mormons and Eastern Orthodox, etc., are also Christians.
The group that most Christians don't recognize as Christian is probably the Mormons. I have NEVER heard a christian say a Catholic isn't Christian, is that a thing?
YEP! That is for sure a thing. I've heard many a dumb@ss say that Catholics are not Christians. They are idiots. Catholicism is the largest Christian denomination in the world. Too many out there believe their New Testament, gay hating, electric guitar in the worship service, speaking in tongues nonsense is the thing that qualifies as Christianity. F*ck those people.

To think that something similar couldn’t happen to the Dem side is idiotic. Hell, if the Dems were in a similar situation to Repubs in 2016, Dems probably would have voted Trump in with his same (non) platform and rhetoric. He may only needed to flip a few talking points to make most of them think he was a Dem (just as he did to Repubs).
It’s politics and the majority in this country being low information voters who happen to pick a “side,” no matter the rhetoric. (See Sanders in 2016 and in 2020)
Yes, Trump could have run as a Democrat.
No, he would not have gotten the nomination.
He specifically chose to run as a Republican because because many who vote that way are more gullible and subject his type of populism.
Republican policies are simple. Do nothing and let people fend for themselves.
Democrat polices are more complicated. More macroeconomic ideas and pulling together to help each other.
He could not get Democrat votes with his lack of empathy and he can't fake that.
Bernie's ideas may go further left than many would like, but he is not divisive. His ideas would help the vast majority of Americans.
This is 100% correct. Bernie would have been fine as President, but I'm not for the free college idea. I don't see value in that (not enough return on investment, and further leaving some people out)...but I've talked about that before.

I want the everything investigated. Why the rush. Let's slow down and look at the possible fraud

You know, the HUGEST dumba$$es of them all rationalize voting for Trump or votes for Trump by saying that Democrats would have done the same thing. I call BS to that. Historically, Democrats (or liberals) have been on the right side of history consistently whenever there was an issue of human decency involved. When a Democrat that we elect becomes a demagogue, then I'll entertain that nonsense. Until then, Trumpers and Trump enablers can shut the hell up. F*ckin' morons.
Glad Biden has not been invited to the Whitehouse. That place and the people there have served as superspreaders for Covid.
Yep. As Michael Rapaport said, that place needs to be fumigated/disinfected before Biden should enter.

How many times are you going to say the wh needs to be fumigated? It was old lame joke 30 years ago. Are you going to be quoting Happy Days stuff now?
ladies and germs meet the new senator from the state of Alabama, Tuberville. It's like they reward false information and utter ignorance.
"You know, our government wasn’t set up for one group to have all three of branches of government. It wasn’t set up that way, our three branches, the House, the Senate and executive."
"I think it still is still up in the air who's going to be the president.... So, you know, the media has got to stand down on all of this because they're creating so much havoc. I remember in 2000 Al Gore was president, United States, president elect, for 30 days – 30 days – and after 30 days, it got to the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court says, no, George Bush is going to be the president. That's the problem we'll get into when we do a lot of guessing, and that's all it is right now."
"I tell people, my dad fought 76 years ago in Europe to free Europe of socialism. Today, you look at this election, we have half this country that made some kind of movement, now they might not believe in it 100 percent, but they made some kind of movement toward socialism. So we're fighting it right here on our own soil."

Funny someone would not include them , since they were the first large organized group to call themselves that.
Protestants dispute that claim. They were first called "Christians" at Antioch in Acts 11:26. Nowhere in the Bible does it say anything about Roman Catholics.
Personally, I think it's a pointless argument.

Flagpole went off the rails long ago. He has rage unseen before. I wish him the best but he off his rockers. The dude is unhinged in a major way.
A very bracing and important interview on the Dems' disastrous down ballot election, and how the electoral college disadvantage is up to 4% or so.
Bottom line, here are the problems:
1) The worse the education divide gets, the better for Rs. Because the kollege kidz move to the blue states and leave entire states to red domination. And the electoral college + Senate favor all those empty red states. 4% needed in the popular vote to win the White House. That's killing to democracy. Get ready for minority rule.
2) Whenever and AOC type says 'defund the police,' that tars every single democrat. Every one of them. And the dems have zero message discipline. AOC and Manchin really have little to do with each other, but Manchin is hurt by AOC. Not vice-versa.
It's very depressing that we're looking at more and more minority rule. We thought demographics would help the Dems, but that's being overwhelmed by the education divide.
The House will almost certainly go Red in 2022, and then Biden will be impeached and investigated from dawn til dusk. Certainly no dem laws will be passed.
I guess the question is if the Dem Party can win back some white people and the black and hispanic voters it lost. It's hard. Probably only with a great presidential candidate.

One interesting idea in the piece is on the lifecycle idea...that everyone is lefty when young, but after marrying and having kids they get more conservative. Well, sure, probably. So how will that change when people are getting married 10 years later than last generation and fewer are having kids? Does that mean people will stay lefty into their late 30s or 40? Instead of 27?
That could be a rich vein of Dem voters.
Fascinating piece. Lots of you would get a lot out of it.

I definitely think the "defund the police" business hurt Democrats down ballot. Voting Trump out was paramount for Americans, and they did that, but "defund the police" is too much for many of them to stomach, including me...though that didn't keep me from voting straight blue this time.
For one thing, that term means different things to different people, both those saying it and those hearing it. Some actually mean to completely do away with police departments. Others mean cut their funding and reallocate it to other services.
I personally am in neither camp. I think some different training is in order with an emphasis to police officers that if they engage in misconduct that they can face firing or prison.
Daniel Tosh had a great suggestion...only black people can be police officers. Ha! Funny, and obviously not at all possible, but it would be an interesting social experiment that I wouldn't mind seeing the result of.

some of the very corrupt nations have only women as traffic officers or that kind of thing. Cuts down on corruption a very large amount. But doesn't work for law enforcement.

Yeah, as Daniel Tosh is a comedian, it's not a serious suggestion.
