He may only needed to flip a few talking points to make most of them think he was a Dem (just as he did to Repubs).
It’s politics and the majority in this country being low information voters who happen to pick a “side,” no matter the rhetoric. (See Sanders in 2016 and in 2020)
Yes, Trump could have run as a Democrat.
No, he would not have gotten the nomination.
He specifically chose to run as a Republican because because many who vote that way are more gullible and subject his type of populism.
Republican policies are simple. Do nothing and let people fend for themselves.
Democrat polices are more complicated. More macroeconomic ideas and pulling together to help each other.
He could not get Democrat votes with his lack of empathy and he can't fake that.
Bernie's ideas may go further left than many would like, but he is not divisive. His ideas would help the vast majority of Americans.
