A post from Spring 2021 with apologies to Jim Carroll...
Donnie got busted on fake charity raps
He beat the raps by rattin' on his offspring
He said, Hey, I know it's dangerous
But it sure beats Sing Sing
But records surfaced on his own massive tax fraud
From the very same offspring

Trump campaigned on the wall which was obviously an anti Hispanic dog whistle.
Then he kept talking about caravans of Spanish speaking people trying to get through our southern border.
In the run up to the 2020 election Trump was relatively subdued on immigration and borders. I think that rhetoric worked against the Republicans in the 2018 midterm. Also the pandemic and resultant economic impact were foremost in everybody's mind.
You’re forgetting it was the ‘China virus’. Any excuse to hate on foreigners. It’s all about the hate with these people.

The ability of someone like Trump to become president shows us how ignorant and gullible the American people are. It is the same on both sides. In fact the Dems are almost there with Bernie but Bernie is a politician.
By and large the American people are slow witted, uneducated, and gullible. We allow our government to put barriers in place so only barely over 50% of u vote. We allow our government to enact policies that make it harder for poor or non-white to vote. We allow our government to rig the system to keep themselves elected with gerrymandering.
The election of Trump is what we deserved because we allowed it to happen.
The election of a Biden, a man in his late 70s held together by a string, is also what we deserve.

Where has this sage been?
Well, stated. To think that something similar couldn’t happen to the Dem side is idiotic. Hell, if the Dems were in a similar situation to Repubs in 2016, Dems probably would have voted Trump in with his same (non) platform and rhetoric. He may only needed to flip a few talking points to make most of them think he was a Dem (just as he did to Repubs).
It’s politics and the majority in this country being low information voters who happen to pick a “side,” no matter the rhetoric. (See Sanders in 2016 and in 2020)

It is NOT the same on both sides.
Martin Sheen nor anyone like him have not run, let alone got enough support to win the primaries, to then win a presidential election and then have the entire Dem party bow down to Sheens every command. An absolute nonsense comparison that you made up in your imagination.
Bernie is a proper politician and a decent human being so again it is a BS Bernie also did not win enough to support in the primaries nor have the entire Dem party rolled over for him.
What exactly was your point again?
Well, here's the pretty obvious thing (from a middle-aged, life long conservative): We don't KNOW that folks on the left might someday nominate and support someone anywhere near as bad as Trump. We just don't.
We DO know that Republicans chose him as their best, and Trump supporters made him president, and watched his atrocity of a presidency for 4 years, and STILL wanted 4 more years.
I have no problem giving the benefit of the doubt to the non-Trump side. But that doesn't matter - all anyone can do is guess. On the Trump side, absolutely no guessing is required....unfortunately. 47-48% of us. My g**.
Trumpism, in a nutshell.
Utter incompetence and absence of care for others.
More than 130 Secret Service officers who help protect the White House and the president when he travels have recently been ordered to isolate or quarantine because they tested positive for the coronavirus or had close contact with infected co-workers, according to three people familiar with agency staffing.

That sucks.
You know, the HUGEST dumba$$es of them all rationalize voting for Trump or votes for Trump by saying that Democrats would have done the same thing. I call BS to that. Historically, Democrats (or liberals) have been on the right side of history consistently whenever there was an issue of human decency involved. When a Democrat that we elect becomes a demagogue, then I'll entertain that nonsense. Until then, Trumpers and Trump enablers can shut the hell up. F*ckin' morons.

Here is Obama speaking four years ago. The day after Trump was elected.
He offered to work for a peaceful transition immediately.
Russian interference was already known at this time. This was after the media projection of the results, not the certified electoral college.

Obama is the best. Appropriate what he did there. So many great examples of politicians behaving like decent humans after losing an election or transferring power...Romney, McCain, Bush Sr., Bush Jr., Gore. Won't be for The Orange Menace though, that miserable POS.
I remember this. Trump showed up to the WH looking terrified. He was handed an excellent head start by Obama and squandered it. The hard work done by many past administrations into developing a robust transition was trashed by trump. He simply didn't care about any of that. We are very lucky with Biden in this sense. He's been through a transition before, knows the players still, knows the world leaders and can piece things together without the help of the WH.

The value system eluded to in that graphic is already outdated. They don't even preach those things anymore.
It has been over a week since Trump has spoken publicly. I think he will break his silence tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the Million M@GA March on Washington. I believe they are hoping for marching orders. What if Trump gives them what they want?

Except for welcoming the foreigner, all those things are still preached and taught in even the most conservative churches. It's just that there is a lot more cognitive dissonance than there used to be.

Very true. They just preach white is right, get off my lawn. That's it. Ignorance, stupidity, and racism.
Look at these ignorant maskless MFers:

solid essay here- it's main argument is that Dems should welcome all these lawsuits.
First, because when they all fail it will prove that Trump lost the election fairly and squarely. Without the lawsuits, Rs would have an easy time declaring the elections fraudulent. But here, we have proof the elections were fine.
Second, because the shoe will be on the other foot at some point, and here the Dems can point to precedent. If there is material voter suppression in GA in January (and oh man yes there will be), then the Dems may be starting court procedings.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2020/11/12/lawsuits-trump-election-false-claims/
I don't recall any Dems saying they reject the notion of lawsuits. When asked, I bet any have been saying sure bring the lawsuits but they won't go anywhere, which is accurate. Now waiting for trump to feel ready for defeat is insane.

Dude come on, there is no comparison between trump and bernie, not even close. We have seen no sign that the Dem party will attract or allow a trump-type to take over it. Am I wrong?

He had better watch what he does and says. He might find himself detained.

You gotta wonder if he's trying to get Pence to take over and pardon him. To please the base, he can easily say there is a witch hunt against him and that it's needed to protect him from the Democrats. The GOP would go along. In fact, you could argue they are setting up for that now with their refusal to call Biden the president-elect. If the GOP doesn't do that, they risk losing the trumper support for 2022 and of course they obviously would not mind pardoning this crook.

There is a decent possibility that Trump will resign to allow Pence to pardon him. IF that happens, I wonder who would be right that he wouldn't make it out of his first term?
Oh...I don't know...could it be.............

You may already know this and are an innocent victim of auto-correct, but just in case, the wording you wanted to use is "alluded to".
