the scariest part of all this is not trump - he's told us for years that he's not in favor of democracy.
the scariest part is that the R party so quickly admitted that it's not in favor of democracy and would be fine with getting rid of it. Maybe just this once, amirite, Rs?

What's even scarier is that one party - the Dems - for 4 long years could never accept the results from the 2016 presidential election. SIMPLY because you despise Trump.

You got “despise Trump” correct. The rest...not so much.

I agree with this. The Republicans who have bowed down and enabled Trump disgust me more than Trump. They know better. I see Trump as a pathologically disturbed individual. We knew who he was and he can be no different. The Republican mass show of cowardice and the selling out of values disturbs me more.
They allowed Trump to be Trump.

Yep. Republicans have abandoned all sense of decency. The party of Reagan is no more. They hate immigrants (except the white ones; they tolerate them). They hate people who aren't white. They couldn't care less about fiscal responsibility or the rule of law. They hate the First Amendment. They couldn't care about the lives of Americans if they aren't fetuses (and even then, they don't give a sh!t...just a way to keep their thumb on women). The GOP has devolved under Trump to be just a bunch of miserable pieces of sh!it.

Did you not see the post I made of Obama announcing the transfer of power to Trump the very day after the election in 2016?
We are a week and a half out and Trump and the majority of the Republican party have not accepted the results of this election.
They are even filing multiple lawsuits to overturn state results.
This is the definition of not accepting the results.
Yes, there were investigations in criminal activity of Trump and the sole reason he was not indicted of anything is because the DOJ policy was to not indict a sitting president and he appointed corrupt AG's to cover for him.
Michael Cohen did time for Trump's crimes.

Ignoring your baseless conclusion, you yourself have admitted that Trump is a despicable human being. It seems a great deal of his base considers this a feature.

how do you explain the increased support for Trump in 2020 among hispanics and black voters?
Not just Cubans in FL...in TX and NYC too.
solid essay here- it's main argument is that Dems should welcome all these lawsuits.
First, because when they all fail it will prove that Trump lost the election fairly and squarely. Without the lawsuits, Rs would have an easy time declaring the elections fraudulent. But here, we have proof the elections were fine.
Second, because the shoe will be on the other foot at some point, and here the Dems can point to precedent. If there is material voter suppression in GA in January (and oh man yes there will be), then the Dems may be starting court procedings.

The ability of someone like Trump to become president shows us how ignorant and gullible the American people are. It is the same on both sides. If Martin Sheen or some other unqualified Dem spouting what the knuckle draggers on the other side wanted to hear decided to run they would easily no elected. In fact the Dems are almost there with Bernie but Bernie is a politician.
By and large the American people are slow witted, uneducated, and gullible. We allow our government to put barriers in place so only barely over 50% of u vote. We allow our government to enact policies that make it harder for poor or non-white to vote. We allow our government to rig the system to keep themselves elected with gerrymandering.
The election of Trump is what we deserved because we allowed it to happen.
The election of a Biden, a man in his late 70s held together by a string, is also what we deserve.

Trump knows that New York state prosecutors are going to pounce the moment he is no longer President. He's terrified! No pardon, self granted or provided by a new POTUS, can save his fat dimpled sorry ___ from that fate. He, his family, and their precious brand are all going to be destroyed in the coming year.

Sally doesn't mean it. You don't vote for and champion a despicable human being and then also make fun of people who state their dislike of Trump. He wants to have one foot in on the right side of history, but I deny him access, and YES, before any of these idiot Trumpers ask, I am that gatekeeper. He has both feet firmly planted in the Trump cult. Wrong side of history. Wrong side of morality. Wrong side of goodness. Just an outrageously stupid ignorant wife-berating f*ck.

A) The Dems accepted the election and gave full support to the incoming Trump administration.
B) Those who did voice concerns about the election did so for several reasons. One of the major reasons was that the Russians interfered in favor of Trump, and the Trump campaign colluded with Russian intelligence.
Even GOP senators argue that Russia interfered on Trump's behalf. Not disputed by anyone serious.

Stupid people come in all races and nationalities. The current Republican party will use anyone they can get to vote for them, but they don't respect them one bit. Look at Trump's cabinet positions over the years. McConnell's asian wife, Nikki Haley (who Republicans wouldn't like if she didn't look white and if she went by her given name of Nimrata Randhawa), and Ben Carson who was relegated to be the head of HUD because it has the word "urban" in it. He's a freakin' brain surgeon! He had no business being in charge of HUD. All the rest of them white, and most of them men.

Collusion is not a legal term. The Mueller report said no conspiracy between Trump campaign and Russia. Dems did not accept 2016 election. Did Adam schiff accept? Did chuck schumer accept? Jerry nadler? Nancy pelosi?

I haven't seen numbers about this, but I get the impression that while Trump did get increased support from Hispanic and black voters, it wasn't a very big improvement.
One possible reason I can think of for peeling off a few voters is criminal justice reform. Trump actually did make some minor headway on that as Jared and Ivanka pushed for it. Meanwhile, Biden chose a tough prosecutor as his running mate. So if criminal justice reform is your main issue, you at least had a reason to look Trump's way.
The other reason is simply because he asked for their votes. The Trump campaign did do a lot of outreach to Hispanic and black voters. Some of that effort probably bore some fruit.
