And they KNOW there is nothing there. But that doesn't matter. They are doing everything they can to sow the seeds of doubt. And it's working. NPR said that a recent poll they conducted had 70% of republicans believe that this wasn't a fair election.

What I'd like to hear Biden do is actually call for further investigation into these allegations as well. He should pushing for every instance of fraud to be found and the correct votes to be tallied. There isn't anything there that will flip this election, but if we really want to unite the nation maybe the best way to do it (especially since we know there isn't widespread fraud anywhere) would be to extend an olive branch and "demand that all fraud be uncovered and all parties involved in the fraud be punished accordingly."

Flagpole is smart and confident and sometimes its a bit like a chess game to try and get him to admit he is wrong.

Its not done with any malice or serious intent, its just like a little message board game. I am guessing he kinds of enjoys it too.

I am on this board for a variety of reasons. Sometimes to vent, sometimes to get information, sometimes to make a point, sometimes to find out how others see the world and sometimes just to have a little fun.

I appreciate your willingness to work with me here, but I just post facts and the truth. There really aren't too many different ways to present facts and truth, and if I were to try to avoid annoying one person or group of persons by not saying it a certain way, then it would likely annoy another person or group of persons.

I post facts and truth. If someone FEELS annoyed by what I post, that is on them. I am not responsible for people who have a lack of self awareness.

So, serious question for some of you today.

I get that Trollminator is currently in a way different time zone, but what the hell are so many of you doing up so early?

I was up at 4 a.m. today because I had a brief meeting with a client in India, but I am not usually up that early. I USUALLY get up between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m.

I didn't think trump and others would want to be humiliated with forced removal, but I think they do want it. They've been convincing 70m people that the election was stolen. Watching them get forcefully escorted out will be confirmation that the deep state is against we the people. They will be furious watching their dear leader treated this way. FOX will monetize it. The GOP will use it to secure votes. We might see trump getting physically removed from the WH.

So there are two versions of that "what if" game.

1. Would Trump have been re-elected if he did a better job on covid?

2. Would Trump have been re-elected if covid never happened?

The answer to #1 is that Trump was just incapable of doing a better job on covid. So it's really not that interesting. Trump will always be true to his own nature.

The more interesting question is #2. If covid never happened, how would things have played out? I tend to be more optimistic for the Democrats on that one.

As it was, Democrats barely ran a campaign at all. There were no big rallies to support down-ballot candidates. There were no armies of door-knockers to meet the voters face to face. Republicans did do all these things, while Democrats refused to put people at risk.

So you can make the argument that Democrats were at a huge disadvantage in this election. And if covid never happened, the focus would have been health care, health care, health care. That's different from having to run on whether we should wear masks or not.

Without covid, the Democrats would have done even better, especially in house and senate races.

I work with people in Europe every day. So I'm always up early.

Very interesting indeed.. for #2 I can see a reverse scenario where trump would have been re-elected (on strong economy narrative, etc) while Dems would have performed better in the House and Senate races. I really think COVID just exposed his incompetence way too much.
