Pompeo's comment that folks are focusing on ("There will be a smooth transition to a 2nd Trump term") was meant to get you folks to react the exact way that you are reacting. Nothing more.

Trump will certainly use every legal action (and probably a number of illegal ones) to try to stay in power. That is a given. But Pompeo is simply making light of the entire situation with his remark. He is not the bad guy here - at least not any more so than he has been simply for joining Team Trump. He is just a guy trying to do his job and keep a sense of humor in an absurd situation.

Also, yeah this lawsuit has no chance of succeeding.

I know trump’s weak attempts to overturn the election results will go nowhere, but the reality is the longer we go without him conceding, the transition formally starting, right wing media not acknowledging his clean defeat, and with trump replacing top dogs with loyalists.. the more his 70m voters will be convinced Biden actually stole it. All these things add legitimacy to trump’s claims for his base, and that is a very bad thing for our democracy. He just keeps clawing away at it. Democracy won’t fall at his feet but he’s going to leave it pretty shredded up. Plus the GOP thinks they benefit from that since it seems to weaken Biden so there is political incentive to enable Trump. It should make everyone sick to their stomachs.

I’m not sure that’s a viable strategy. All that does is create a bigger we vs them, at most a pendulum swings harder effect IMO.

I didn't say I didn't care about all of you. I said I didn't care if I ANNOY you. There are worlds of difference in those two statements.

I post things that are factual at all times. Yes, I get something wrong one in a while...those things I get wrong are mostly predictions. It is EXTREMELY rare that I get a fact wrong, and as facts are extremely important to me, I will not let someone post something that is incorrect when conversing with me. I do NOT post to annoy people. I can not control your feelings. If I post something that annoys you, it is not something I did purposefully, and I have no ability to make you annoyed, so no, I do not care even the least little bit if you are annoyed by something I post. That's on you.

Now, if you tell me you lost a loved one or something of that nature, I would feel empathy for you and hope that you are coping well.

Hope that clears that up, and quite honestly, it should.

Ha! You seem very interested in my life. Yes, MANY years ago, I had not been a big international traveler...that's true. There was a time in my adult life that the only other countries I had been two were Canada and The Bahamas. I actually still have not been to Mexico and have no desire to go there. I now have a tally of 20 countries (small number compared to some people, but I don't have too many more I want to see...I will probably go back to some of them), half of them for business, so by myself for those, and half with either just my wife or my family. I have also been in every state in the US except for Alaska and Hawaii. I have long said that where I spend money is on travel. We were slated to take another trip to Europe this summer that we cancelled due to COVID-19.

The defund the police and along with pictures of rioting across the nation helped save the Republican party.

Convincing people that covid was just like the flu and the Democrats were going to shut down your place of work and ruin the economy didn't help either.

After 4 years of Trump, I am really tired of the , "he was only kidding" excuse for crass, inappropriate behavior. That excuse just doesn't fly anymore. This is too important of a topic.

Agreed. What kind if dip-$hit in his position “jokes” about not recognizing an election result. “Joking” about a potential coup is not even in the vicinity of funny. We all know what this actually was... a dog whistle disguised as a joke.
