Maybe this is a big tick for cross training and he really is in, or close to peak shape. He said he might have a 50/50 at breaking 15 and to be honest I thought he had lost the plot. But, clearly when dealing with things the cross training subthreshold balance has done the job. Now he has run 15:01, 15:02 and 15:04. The amazing thing is, the 15:01 was solo on a course that sucks. That was his post London fitness and just shows you marathon training is the fittest you'll likely be.
To be honest, I'm shocked as well. That's a great run considering the mileage has shrunk, the bike has increased. You wouldn't think you could just bang out a near on flat 15. Definitely making me rethink the whole cross training situation and how it really can open up other possibilities, or help you claw onto what you have in a serious way when you are dealing with niggles or issues.
This guy deserves to break 15, three 15:0X is just too much. Just give the man a 14:59 and let him ride off into the sunset.
