Because random races followed the official protocol how to do things the right way, with accurately measuring the course, have races officials there and other racers as well. Not just everybody working for that one guy on a track.
But my guess is that you never really have done any official racing. Not in the 80s and not now.
But if you can just pass a tracker to your mate for day 6 and 7 as per cockerels suggestion how can you trust any result?
And yes you’re right, I’ve never done an official or unofficial multi day event either in the 80s or now
There will always be cheats in sport. But if you want to be taken seriously and minimise the risk of being labelled a cheat, go about your sport (or 1000miler) with integrity and transparency.
Gutsy effort from NB. $2.6mil raised. TikTok feed had hours and hours of unfilled advertising space. Donations largely from general public. Perhaps more $$$ are possible with such a format in future. Maybe corporate aus doesn’t yet understand advertising with Team NB and TikTok? Perhaps something didn’t go quite right in selling the proposition to corporate aus. Perhaps the format and duplicity in claiming it as an official WR attempt hurt the cause.
“Good not GOAT”.
Onwards and upwards. Next stop Australian of the year.

By half way here, WG was having an awful run. But then, kapow.
These are WGs 25 mile splits for 100-200:
12:54 6:20 6:01 14:17
Believe them if you like. I personally don't. Every single other person in the field will be much smoother and far less extreme than that, and yes, I know there's a huge aid point at 199.3 where everyone naps. Napping has nothing to do with it. Nobody runs to those extremes. The 6s are super-duper world class, and there's no way in the world a runner of that ability is going to mess around with 12s and 14s if they can do 6s. Can't happen, won't happen.
Apparently Cockerell doesn't check course profiles and doesn't know what descending down a mountain means. Miles 125-175 in the Moab 240 is the descent off the big mountain to the valley floor, hence why Goodge's pace is much faster for that portion. Before and after miles 125-175 are the two big climbs going up of the race, hence why he is much slower in those portions.
I think Cockerell will need to issue a public apology to Goodge and Ballenger for this, especially when Cockerell has already falsely accused them of pilfering charity funds that Cockerell had to retract.
Haha, don't be so absurd, you can clearly see the course starts to climb at 150, then a drop, then plenty of climbing till 175. It's a net even run. Mile 166 climbs 70 metres. Besides, I'm not talking about profile, I'm comparing him to others.
Right his Strava is out. They haven't even bothered to try to hide it. Complete collapse of the heart, the faster he gets. This will look absolutely dismal when compared to other athletes.
Bascially, 17 minute miles at 145 become 11 minute miles at 125 later. Straight back into Jogle, Transcon, 48/30 mode.
This is an orgy of evidence, all going to the race officials.

He’ll end up at way way more than $2.6m. The way people run these things is they’re sitting on huge donations from sponsors they hold back until the end that will magically stream through in coming days. I reckon he ends up at more than $5m over the next few days but have no real basis for that claim
Will, you could not be any more ignorant about trail ultras or 200 mile races. The RD is going to laugh at your “orgy.”
Your obsession is truly demented. You are starting with the conclusion that he’s a cheat and desperately searching for evidence to fit that conclusion. It’s ass backwards and insane.
During the transcon, you couldn’t catch him cheating, which you determined was evidence that he was cheating.
Now your evidence that he was cheating is that he was slower moving uphill than down and didn’t run the same splits as other runners, disregarding where/when any runner slept or accounting for how drastically one runner may feel from any other 200 miles into the race or how people catch 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc winds in these 200 milers.
You really have no clue whatsoever what you are talking about.

People don't run 8 hours quicker than projected over a 50 mile seqence. 1or 2 absolute max. Of course I've taken into account when people are sleeping, my workings are clear on that.
But yes, thankfully we have a body who will look at this.
No you did not account for where people were sleeping. How could you possibly know? People sleep on the side of the trail in these events ALL THE TIME!!! You are completely ignorant and making an absolute fool of yourself.
And no, no body will look at this because it is so absurd. It is as if this is the first 200 mile race you have paid even the slightest bit of attention. You are so clueless...

God you are so absolutely unhinged, it's incredible.
Nedd Brockmann getting widespread media coverage for finishing. Does this make him an ultrarunner now or is he still too attractive with his 6 pack abs?
