Here is another Georgia update from the Fat hurts modeling center. This is based off data as of 11:23am.
Currently:
Trump: 2,432,928
Biden: 2,414,782
Difference: 18,146
Based on uncounted votes from 20 key Georgia counties, Biden is expected to win Georgia by 38,249 votes. This is above the 0.5% recount threshold of 24,239. So it's now looking like we will not have a recount. (Before, I was mistakenly using 1% instead of the 0.5% prescribed for a recount under Georgia law)
Maybe I'm misremembering but I thought a less than .5% got an auto recount but less than 1% can request a recount? Maybe it's a different state I'm thinking of but I thought that was the GA rule.
I was making the same mistake. I think that's Florida. I just looked up the rule for Georgia and it's 0.5% with no automatic recount.
