This may be ominous for Trump:

I don’t understand why this means a vote for Biden. People are tired of the freaking shut downs. Democratic governors have run roughshod all over citizens declaring things closed or non-essential with power they don’t Constitutionally have.

America is in for a rude awakening when Biden takes the helm and they realize that he, just like Trump, can’t control the virus spread anymore. But I guess we can take comfort in the fact that he’ll look them in the eye and tell them he’s sorry when they get Covid, and pats them on the back when their small business goes under, and maybe he’ll offer more generous unemployment benefits when he raises taxes on their employer and their employer lays them off

I think the better way to look at it is that the economic problems won't go away until covid goes away. the shutdowns aren't the problem now - people are just too afraid to go do stuff. For good reason. bring infections down to a low level and the economy will recover. but trump refuses to engage in the hard work of encouraging citizens to wear masks and avoid loud interior spaces. trump would rather pretend we're 'rounding the corner'

Yes, a lot of reports of short lines everywhere.

I am not going to say who it helps one way or another.

What it says is that the majority of Americans chose a way to vote before election day.

It doesn't say who voted in person vs mail-in.

From my view, high voter turnout is not good for any Republicans.

And the mail-in drop-off option gave more people an opportunity to vote.

I love my gas powered car that I recently bought but I agree with most of what you wrote.

This will probably be my last gas powered car.

What is the "shut down" like where you are? I'm in NY, probably one of the more aggressive states in terms of a shut down. And we opened up in June. I can get my hair cut, go to a restaurant or bar, go to church. Movie theaters opened up a month ago or so. My work hasn't been affected other than I now work from home half time. Still not back to normal (schools are mostly a hybrid, no live theater or concerts), but we're not "shut down" in any sense of the word.

One of many mistakes that Trump has made is failing to understand that there's no chance of the economy returning to normal until the virus is under control. Open up too early, and the virus comes back, as we're seeing in a lot of the country now.

Trump also failed to encourage any sacrifice by Americans, which is another reason why people are freaking out about "shutdowns". He had the chance to be FDR, by telling everyone that masks, social distancing and the initial shut downs were necessary and we needed to sacrifice our personal comforts for the common good. Had he done so, more people would have bought into masks, distancing and lockdowns, and we would be farther along in controlling the virus and closer to "normalcy", whatever that is going to be. He could have waltzed to re-election if he made even a minimal effort with the virus and spoke honestly to us. Instead, he's deservedly getting the blame for the last 8 months of sickness, death and economic disaster.

Yeah...Almost for sure my next car will be an electric one. Could be sooner than I had thought as I just sold my Kia Soul to my daughter. Hopefully I will have more choices here in Ohio than today when it is time for me to buy.
