You get that race-walking is not running, right? And Renato is a running coach talking about running events? Even if there are similarities, there are some fundamental differences. If the events are so similar, and it's just a question of VO2max & LT, what is the best marathon time of an elite walker? Or 10K? Or 1500m? How many cross-over between the two events? Some Canadian national records: - in the marathon is 2:10:09 from 1975 - in the 10000m is 27:02 from 2016 - in the 1500m is 3:31.71 from 2000

That doesn't make any sense at all. There's a thread started yesterday by an elite race walker who's the Canadian NC and finished 4th in the 50k at Rio ("race walking AMA"). He was asked by a poster if EPO would work for a race walker. The answer given was that yes; it would increase VO2max and increase the pace that can be walked at/below LT. He also pointed to the dominance by the Russians. So, elite race walking is a sub-max effort over a very long distance (50k) with some elites recording a VO2max in the 70+ range. VO2max & LT are factors in a sub-max event like race walking - sounds very similar to the sub-max effort in the marathon.
And a note on the Russian race walkers - they were blowing the wheels off of everyone with their 02-vector doping. Russia's infamous doping coach Viktor Chegin (you may have heard of him) had quite list of top performering RWs, the vast majority of them busted for EPO or ABP hematological anomalies:
