Robert Young fakes run across America

To be fair, I can't see a timestamp on the first, long run, so he may have slept between that and the other efforts. Still, it's a lot considering his claimed marathon PR pace is 6:08 / mile. Specially after averaging ~70 miles / day for several weeks immediately beforehand.

Rob was never in sight according to Asher. Once again, they claim he was running on the side and got into the van in fear.

This guy in the video claims they were going 20mph. Can Asher verify this? I believe they were going at "running" speed.

Then how about the video taken from the business? Were still in "fleeing" mode going at a very slow speed?

More excuses. Can anybody find this guy actually met this guy running to have him pop up from side of the RV or claims to have ran back into RV.

He says they drove off, and the light was coming at them at 20mph. I can assure you want running at 20mph. At the point they drove away, they very likely were driving 20mph or faster. Before and after that, probably 10mph or so. (I might have been coming up on the van at 4:30-5:00 min/mi.

In response to this video, where is Rob's flashlight in any of my videos out there. Also sounds like he was beside the RV which again, seems unlikely since there is no shoulder (and not much traffic to bug him in the road). Why not run in front of the RV? I also like the point that this incident want mentioned in their blog, as someone else pointed out.

Post video of the sub 7 min miles to FB or it didn't happen.

Boys, you can't dig yourselves out of this one. Best to disappear. Robert can emerge in a couple weeks and talk about how all the negativity made it impossible for him to continue and how it's the kids who suffer.

It adds up to 60.0 miles in 7:18:01 which is 7:18/mile pace.

If you remove the initial 4.81 miles in which he dawdled at an 11:21 pace, you have 55.2 miles in 6:23:22 which is 6:32/mile pace.

I'm sure the video footage of Mr. Young walking 12-minute pace is just a sabotage effort by infidels to discredit his real 7:00-pace ultraracing abilities!

His post that claims that if you just watch the CCTV at the carwash in Emporia for another 15 minutes you'll see him lagging behind the van. Hopefully the carwash guy still has the tapes to show it.

Apparently his crew ARE dicks. Because they kept driving along at that same 10mph pace for an hour after they passed the carwash. Even then, they only slowed briefly (to drive 0.6 mi in 12minutes) before picking back up to 10mph for another hour after that.

Must have taken Rob quite some time to catch them!

Any data entry junkies want to put all his runs from the photos into a google sheet or something? Would go a long way towards building a case. Seems like many runs days don't add up to big mileage. And with the times and durations of these runs, we would have a full timeline of all time he now has claimed he was on foot and running. Which could be cross referenced to other videos, photos, accounts,etc to debunk.

1. Would be great to see as much as you can get prior, but RY is leaving the door open "as you MIGHT just find me".

2. For frame of reference, where is the video taken? The video posted is at 10:35PM and your screenshots and videos are time stamped east of Emporia around 1:45AM.

RY's route has him go straight through Old Highway 50 straight through Emporia so I took a look through Emporia for other possible spots where video footage might be gathered outdoors. Seems like a lot: check cashing spots, ATMS facing the street, car dealerships, hotels, banks, etc. But obviously a lot of these places wouldn't be willing just hand over security footage.

But, if I were looking to cheat, I'd run through Emporia, then catch some shut eye as soon as we left the city limits.

I thik the OP said the carwash is on sunnyslope street.

The timestamps on the tracker & the carwash cctv camera seemed to be a few minutes off from each other, but you could pinpoint in the historical data where the RV went by sunnyslope because the previous tracker point is just a street or two prior.

Your math is a little off - I get the following:

Distances (miles): 4.49, 8.24, 11.61, 5.49, 25.36

Times: 0:33:41, 0:58:58, 1:19:29, 0:45:41, 2:46:33

Total Distance: 55.19 miles

Total Time: 6:24:22

Average Pace: 6:58

Still pretty fast in context of the full journey.

If we take out the 5.49 miles @ 8:19 pace it becomes

49.7 miles

5:38:41

6:49 Avg pace

Again, fast given the context of the full journey, but broken up into runs across a day might be doable. 7:04 is WR pace for 100 consecutive road miles. 5:50 pace is the North American record pace for 50 consecutive miles (as best I can tell). So even if he had claimed to do this all in a single run it would still be a minute, or 17% over WR pace. Break it up into 4 legs throughout the day and it becomes a more believable feat.

Still though, it's tough to accept in the context of the super high-mileage journey, and really tough to accept given that his unsupported marathon PR pace is claimed to be 6:08. This collection includes a single run almost marathon distance at marathon PR pace + ~10%.
