with 2 weeks to Berlin, Bester continues his strict overtraining regime:
Tue - 10x1K, 4x500, still complaining about a cold last week Thu - 10x2min/1min fartlek Fri - 14:48 5K race Sat - 3K WU, 16:40/5K, 3K jog, 15:13 parkrun, 3K jog, 16:40/5K, 3K CD
meanwhile, also prepping for Berlin:
Ben Is Running completes Copenhagen Half in 72:53 for his first run in 6 weeks that was further than 10K without having to do it on an inclined treadmill to reduce the impact on his injured back.... what could go wrong here?
Been a fan of Ben, but reacted to this. First he was so injured he didnt stomach being on strava, next time I see him he is running copenhagen half? Its not like he is a very experienced marathoner, who might be able to very fast be back to that volume. Its incredible fascinating to not only do stupid stuff but also to record and share it.
Resting up or slowly building up mileage sustainably isn’t gonna pay the bills unfortunately!
I think the reason I enjoyed the Clayton Young series so much is because it was the first YouTube series I’d seen in a long time where you could clearly see the runners main focus was on performance and not “content”.
Usually watch Philly Bowden and she goes on about increasing milage doing 100 plus mile weeks as if that what motivates her.
She recently commented how she felt really tired but still went on to do 2 training sessions that day.
Will be interesting to see how she does in Berlin, I do enjoy her blogs though.
Bowden is a narcissistic pain hyper charging heaps for her coaching experience; but she is far from stupid and has down the years been coached in UK by some top people and no doubt she can put some sensible detail into her own schedules. but isn't she now coached by someone else? Anyone got the ID?

What do you guys think of the Sagasu Running YouTube channel? At first glance, you might assume that he knows a lot about running shoes, and he probably does a lot of research, especially on Nike shoes. It's amusing when he talks about his own training. He claims to have tested almost all super shoes, but in reality, his running experience is very limited. A couple of years ago, he ran a marathon just under four hours, and the NYC Marathon in over five hours. On his channel, he talks about aiming to run a sub-1:20 half marathon this year, while at the same time running on the track in Victory 2 spikes. Something doesn’t add up here, does it?
Duncan Marsden (The Global Runner channel) ran 2:39 today in Montreal, which is very surprising. His "A" goal was sub 2:30 which he's done before, albeit several years ago, and his training certainly indicated that was doable. And his split (1:18:27 at half) shows he wasn't very aggressive from the get-go either. The weather in Montreal was not ideal, but far from oppressive. So I'll be curious to see what had him so far off goal pace so early on. I know the feeling when it's simply not your day, but still surprising for him.

Well credit to him, he's already got a video up talking about the race. Doesn't really blame anything but that it just wasn't his day.
Kofuzi's views are a bit on the decline. Either he's growing a little stale or the shoetube market is drying up. Maybe after he runs Berlin for free he can get another big hit.

I used to be a pretty decent fan of his channel, but it’s borderline unwatchable now; he’s become nothing but a brand shill.
Getting really annoyed by the whole thing about as soon as someone is criticizes an influencer/Youtuber it's always the same thing of that person "feeling down", "not doing ok" and that's the reason why they're criticize that person. As a way of always shaking of any type of criticism they get by saying the person who said it probably has problems of their own. And yeah sometimes that's the case, but any influencer/Youtuber ALWAYS use that copout. Like they can't do anything wrong or EVER admit to doing anything wrong, they're flawless and doing this for the greater good of the earth.
I listened to BITR pod with Floberg and got angry, I'm sorry.
And their (Floberg's in perticular) reasoning behind homeschooling in that ep also sounded crazy, but that's a whole other thing.
Ha ha, not sure how he would live being paid in running shoes, free race entry and odd hotel accommodation. YouTube addsence and occasional sponsored product is certainly not going to pay the bills or allow you to eat.
passive income from his legal business might along from his partners salary will though.
It’s nice to live through your hobby though, still needs to hit those numbers or he will get dropped

didn't he stop doing anything having to do law a couple years ago during the pandemic?
