Wilson is in that spot where he's still okay. He can play on a playoff team. He can't take a team on his back. He can't will a team to a TD drive when little is there. He's often not even willing to take throws that are there. And he lost just enough speed that he can't get around the end anymore.
He's Tyrod Taylor. But he's probably not willing to be a backup. Steelers won't keep him unless they're absolutely desperate. I think most of Steeler's nation would rather take a shot with Fields. Not that that's likely to turn out well.

Steelers were 10-3 and lost 5 in a row and most of Wilsons solid enough stats yesterday were empty numbers from down 21-0 , when it really mattered. I just read an article, then deleted it, that like Deno had been harping, Wilson was looking at another deal for multiples at $30M, the article says that is surely gone.

How badly did the Steelers botch their QB situation? Going with a combination of a) washed-up Russell Wilson, and b) a guy the Bears (the freakin' Bears!) gave up on, just wasn't going to turn out well. Tomlin is a genius for achieving 10 wins with that roster.

In 2020 he was voted number 2 by the players as the best players in the NFL.
His stats for his first 13 years on par with anyones at 13 years of the career.

Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert and C.J. Stroud were all unavailable or opted out of the Pro Bowl, so Nix was next in line. After Nix opted out, Joe Burrow is now the AFC's top QB left with Wilson and Maye added to the squad behind him.

I'm glad you finally figured out that he's in his 13th season, not 14th, and that Fran Tarkenton's name isn't Frank for that matter, but Russell Wilson is not in the top 4 for passer rating, nor is it over 100 any longer.

The rookie is so asleep that he's celebrating Russell Wilson being the 8th or 9th best QB in the AFC. If it wasn't for Bo Nix having surgery, not to mention all the other QB's that opted out, Russell wouldn't have made it.
