My guess is that Rutledge will be the Head Cross Country and Track Coach and Ben will be an assistant in charge of the XC teams and distance on the track for Pitt State. I would be shocked if they bring others in for either. They could shop around for a XC guy with more experience, but he is doing a pretty good job with the group right now so.
Wow, Hawai'i goes through some throws coaches. Must be a tough place to be.
Hawaii? Yes, its an island in the middle of nowhere and the cost of living is crazy! I am sure it does not pay well or is only 1/2 time. There is your reason.
They were pretty good in the throws 10-15 years ago when the head coach was the throws coach.
Just depends who’s there and what they’re trying to do.
I don’t think anybody in that athletic department is trying to be outstanding in anything though
Actually, if you look at results, when Collier and Aydlette were there, they had several go to the post season, National Championships, and compete internationally. That's been in the past decade
I heard that Tulane is looking to hire a distance coach to be the new head track coach/director (in addition to head XC). Anyone know which candidates they're currently considering?

Who will get the head coach position at UCLA? Seems like Avery Anderson will have to go after the NCAA final. Make sense given his results.

Stop it. He has only been there for 1 recruiting cycle and has won a pac 12 title he is fine. And if he is fired why not just promote Frazier.
Could a good coach make this a respectable DIII program? They have not had much over the last 5-6 years to brag about.

A search firm, hmmm, have heard AD really provides little support to the program for the last couple of years. This method smacks of laziness and disinterest quite frankly. But, good luck to all applicants as it is a fine university. Oh yeah, no indoor facilities and outdoor facilities are located at the old city park stadium.

Why does it matter if the school uses a search firm?
Also, I imagine that the weather in New Orleans is warm enough that indoor facilities aren't necessary. LSU and Texas A&M are the only schools in the south I can think of with indoor facilities. No outdoor facilities is a bummer though, sounds like they use a nearby public track like Georgetown.
Having a search firm just means that they are likely actually looking for someone and they don’t already have a person in mind. Also it costs money so I think the poster was just saying it’s weird that they hired a firm to find a person for a job they don’t care about that much.

Is really Caryl going to UGa? Can they really afford her? With Georgia’s facilities and lack of support not like she has at USC why would she go there?
