GA moving now...up to 57% for Joe on 538
PA stable as always at 86%.
I am chuckling at how Rigged and Iggy keep linking to right wing partisan blogs as "proof" of polling and evidence against Biden. Not FoxNews, or OAN or conservative magazines or even Russia Today. Nope. Always stuff like Joeisdone.com, Pollwatcher, or some other heavily slanted nonsense that will promptly disappear on 11/5.
I am not saying that Trump cannot pull out a victory. 2016 gave us that proof. If you are going to engage in a debate then find something other than Yourcandidateisapoopyhead.com to back up your claims. Otherwise, I can just take a map of the US, color all of the states in blue, and then claim that the pollsters are not taking into account the Biden's army of shy transgender voters of color that only use Cricket Wireless pre-paid phones and they number in the kajillions with just as much legitimacy as your blog claims.
What do people expect Biden to do to “fix” Covid?
I’m being serious.
All these Americans gutting out the crap year of 2020 are going to be sorely disappointed when they discover that no matter who wins, 2021 isn’t going to be better, and it may be worse.

the sad part is that Republicans are so deluded and angry that when a rational person links to NYT, WSJ, NBC News etc....they think the same thign you think about 'demsarecommies.com:'
Not sure how this will resolve.

the good luck is that vaccines will start appearing in 1Q.
Otherwise, all biden can do is the fundamentals: push mask wearing, give political cover to governors who want to shut down bars etc, get PPE to health care people, etc. Most of it is just stopping denial....if people hear 1000 times 'do not be in an interior place with people talking loudly' then many will stop doing that. No one wants this disease.
Trump is actively undermining public health with his anti-mask talk. If that stops, things will improve. People will make up their own minds instead of it being a dumb way to show support for trump.
I appreciate the "Cricket Wireless pre-paid phones" detail. Well done.

I only expect Biden to have a better plan than "It's going to go away like a miracle".
It's not a very high bar.

That's your problem, you keep looking at muh polls when you should start focusing on early voting results. Trump has a great shot to flip NV.

Presuming Biden is elected, it will be interesting to watch his approval ratings with regard to the handling the virus, because it isn't going to magically go away. On the other hand he has put forth a coherent federal vision for dealing with the public health and economic consequences of the epidemic.
Maybe I'm being naive, but I believe people will generally behave like responsible grown-ups if their leadership treats them as such.
Anything is better than Trump's "herd mentality" (he called it that) and having a jacked-up FOX Radiologist call the shots !!!

Polls aside, I would think Trump has a shot at Nevada because the tourism industry has been decimated by Covid shutdowns. If people fear Biden will enforce more lockdowns, I don’t see how anyone in the tourism industry would vote for him.
I see it two ways: you can argue that Trump screwed over small businesses and tourism jobs by “not doing enough” to combat Covid in March, not mandating masks, and denying. This is a fair argument and if you believe it, you’d vote Biden.
Or you can argue that democratic governors destroyed jobs with the shutdowns. Most of the small business owners I know personally blame their Democratic state governors for their problems, not Trump. They’re not voting Biden.

And just to be clear, since no vote counts are being done, or at least none are being released publicly, there are no voting results yet. Just speculation based on how many people are voting and what party they belong to.
It's pretty clear that the total number of voters this year will be high, but I wonder if, with all of the early voters, the number of people who vote on 11/3 will actually be less than expected.
Periodic tangential info: "Gerrymander" comes from Elbridge Gerry, fifth VP of the USA, and the name is pronounced with a hard "g"--as though it were spelled "Gary."
Come on, this is vital stuff!

Maybe I'm a cynic but I see it actually getting worse in certain states. Texas and Florida, for example, have governors who will resist anything that the liberal federal government does to infringe on their freedom to not wear a mask indoors. But maybe a positive, constructive message from Biden will have more sway with adults who don't politicize masks.

Yo u can start with having a president that tells the truth and is upfront with the American people.
Trump has all of these people convinced that masks aren't import, gathering in crowds is no big deal and it will all soon pass on its own without any effort from leadership.

Been saying this for a while, actually. No matter who wins, and even if an effective and safe vaccine is available early in the year, 2021 if going to be a hard, hard year. And here in NYC it's going to be very tough indeed.

I don't really agree with this. If the vaccines start rolling out, if there is more federal stimulus, if the economy keeps growing, if the political uncertainty eases...then 2021 could be fine.
From what I've seen, all those things are more likely than not. I don't really see how it can be worse, unless trump wins.
