I believe this is 100% right. Actually this was demonstrated in Trump's changed position on IVF and abortions. After reading posts condemning any loosening of abortion limitations, I just read a Trumper post stating, "well Trump is a pragmatist and this is a good thing"
It's clearly a cult and anything Trump says, even if it conflicts with previously held ideas or values is suddenly a wonderful idea.
He has quite a power over his base and this is why elected Republicans, who in private have no respect for Trump, but are so fearful they won't say anything publicly.

The scary thing about this power over his base is that they will believe anything Trump tells them.
(1) I won in 2020 and they believe.
(2) March on the capital to stop certification of votes and they will march.
(3) Jan. 6 were peaceful protesters.
(4) Those jailed are hostages.
(5) Trump has done nothing wrong and Biden has weaponized the justice system
(6) Biden and Harris are communists or maxists that will destroy our country .....

The way the Trump campaign handled and is handling the Arlington National disaster is very insightful.
1. It helps restore your memory of what Trump 1.0 was like. Did you forget? It's ok. Most of us do over time. Garbage and disgraceful stuff like this was happening all the time. Trump was crapping on US institutions and groups of people.. US citizens. Minorities. The media. Our Allies. Hurricane victims. HotCovid cities. Even his own party members. He was an international embarrassment.
2. Trump never ever apologies or pivots. And true to form, the Trump campaign continues to smear this poor Arlington National Army women that was pushed to the ground. And they continue to move forward with this awful political scheme of smearing Biden and Harris with this stunt. They continue to post on social media about the day attempting to prove Trump loves the troops and Harris is scum.
If you can take yourself back to Trump 1.0 and remember how awful it was, Trump 2.0 will be way, way worse. The plan is in place to eliminate any and all guardrails of decency and lawfulness that held him back during his first term. And he has that Sweet, sweet presidential immunity.

That would show that democracy works. Politicians do something and voters give the thumbs up or down.
And as a PS, now we know why Trump is being both pro-choice and pro-life at different times. He knows abortion alone could cause him to lose the election.

I believe the women pushing back on Trump in November could be historic. And remember, women that find themselves in relationships with M@ga men can go into the voting booth and vote their conscience. Nobody will ever know they voted for Harris. As we see Trump flip flop on 6 week Abortion in the span of 24 hours we are reminded of all the other times he has flip flopped if he thinks it benefits himself. (Tik Tok, killing Obama Care, etc, etc). Nothing is held so deeply that he won't change his views for votes or personal gain.
But think of this. What is the one thing that Trump has NEVER flip flopped on and has remained a consistency since the 1990's with Trump?
His fealty and acquiescence to Vlad. Putin. Trump has no respect for any person in authority. He tried to dominate all of them and publicly disparages all of them to build himself up. But he simply will not or cannot do this with Putin. He never ever besmirches Putin, speaks negatively about him and always gives him praise.
