This is where the coaching industry is completely broken.
Lululemon announced the signing of Phily and described her as a GB marathoner and coach.
I cannot get on board with how she’s a coach in any world.
She started coaching online, after growing a following, monetised it IMMEDIATELY and to date has coached virtually only, she also holds ZERO coaching qualifications.
So her credentials are thousands of followers, an average women’s elite time for the marathon and being able to set a training plan and reply to WhatsApp messages.
So that’s two ambassadors Lululemon are pushing as coaches (Anya), that have zero qualifications to lead on coaching, monetise it beyond belief and give nothing back to the coaching infrastructure of the sport they drain the teat of.
Has Anya had anyone coach her bar bester? At least Philly has been around the sport and probably knows how to apply some principles for others (kinda like your mate who’s into lifting giving you a gym plan rather than a qualified coach but it’s something at least) Anya surely has very little actual knowledge being so green to it and just floating around falling in on some Battersea sessions or whatever it is she does.
