Things happening with Team Republican as the election approaches:

Trump really wants to announce a new stimulus deal before the election.

He refuses to speak with Pelosi so asked an adult, Mnuchin to deal with Nancy.

If the House passes a bill that has Trump's blessing, the senate has to take it up for a vote.

(doesn't legally have to but he has to as they are of the same party)

Mitch is focused on the Barrett confirmation vote. He doesn't want to deal with a stimulus vote days before the election, especially since his party is not in agreement with what the House and Mnuchin will put up.

Trump doesn't care about confirming Barrett or Republican senator elections, he cares about his election. So, he will push hard for a stimulus vote.

There is a chance that right before the election, the senate votes no on a stimulus bill that Trump wants and they don't have a chance to confirm Barrett by election day.

Or they vote yes with all Democrat senators voting yes and a handful of Republicans. A crazy optic with a Republican majority.

If Democrats win the presidency and the Senate, the current senate can still conform Barrett in the lame duck session, but that looks worse than doing it before the election, where they can say the voters chose them to make this decision.

There are no losing scenarios for Democrats here. It's only a chance for Republicans to screw up their last days of power.

markets hate unpredictabilty and surprises. When the election is over, unpredictability will be lessened and markets should rise. Regardless of who wins.

Nice, they are fully boxed in. So if they vote with Dems that's obviously problematic for their own elections and their long run longevity, probably deals a lethal blow to their already crippled reputation as fiscal hawks. If they don't vote with Dems, then they break bigly from Trump which also hurts them in the polls. I hope it becomes an even bigger chaotic cluster ending in one massive GOP meltdown.

The tweet, which was shared more than 53,000 times, then made its way to 4chan, where users anonymously speculated that it meant the FBI was investigating Hunter Biden. One user posing as Rion affirmed that speculation, saying the hard drive contained child pornography.

The real Rion tweeted Oct. 16 that she did not write the posts.

"For the record: I do not post on chat forums," she wrote. "I understand there are hoaxers posing as me."

But it was too late. Social media users dedicated to QAnon, a baseless conspiracy theory that claims Trump is secretly fighting a cabal of Satan-worshipping, cannibalistic, left-leaning pedophiles, took the 4chan posts as evidence that the FBI was investigating Hunter Biden for potentially possessing child pornography.
