That school is struggling after firing their xc coach prematurely before nationals, and the recently hired now resigned coach lied about their credentials 🙄

I feel like things have changed so much since of Colorado was in top. Mark is a legend coach, but it has to be about time he retires, he in his 70’s. However, something tells me he will never leave unless they force him out and he will be like Rollie Geiger and never know when the time is right. There is no way Mark Wetmore connects with these younger kids and it’s been showing the last 4-5 years.

I know you’re not being malicious, and you even called him a legend which he is, but what’s the point of talking about another coach on here? As someone else previously stated we should only discuss opening positions not try to defame a fellow coach. It does nothing for us and sure as hell isn’t helping them. These are all people at the end of the day. Husbands, wifes, parents and maybe in his case grandparents. I know I don’t have to come here but would be great to see the post in this thread be about jobs. You can create another thread to bash coaches if that fancies you. We all know these colleges and athletic departments do not care about these people what’s the point in tearing them down on here.

You don’t have to like the truth but Wetmore is past his prime. He has zero connection with his athletes. He has had top athletes jump ship for a reason. Ever since Covid it’s been downhill for Colorado. Again you don’t have to like wha I said but it’s true. Everything I’m saying comes from his athletes first hand on the Colorado team.
So in the last 20 posts pr so, they have been seeded with "Wetmore is out at Colorado" or he's too old and doesn't relate to his athletes, he /should/ retire because he's in his 70s, etc.

Sure let's hire the JETS coach who went 2-15 two years in a row. He'll be better here... Nope. Programs would be better off actually going through real hiring processes and finding those few coaches that could do it at any level. But everyone is too lazy so they just chat it up at the cocktail parties we call the first round and convention.
