Here is the relevant US statute regarding Trump and the classified information/documents found at the Trump compound.

18 USC 1924
(a) Whoever, being an officer, employee, contractor, or consultant of the United States, and, by virtue of his office, employment, position, or contract, becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, knowingly removes such documents or materials without authority and with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than five years, or both.
(c) In this section, the term “classified information of the United States” means information originated, owned, or possessed by the United States Government concerning the national defense or foreign relations of the United States that has been determined pursuant to law or Executive order to require protection against unauthorized disclosure in the interests of national security.

Ironically, it was Trump that signed an amendment to this law making it a felony subject to 5 years imprisonment. He had Hillary Clinton in mind when he did that. He had no way of knowing at the time (2018) that he would want to steal 26 boxes (15 plus 11) of classified materials in 2021. What he should have done is un-amend his law before leaving office to allow him to steal classified documents. Like make it a civil citation or something. A $500 fine, maybe.
Anyway, it's all academic if we can't figure out who ratted Trump out to the feds. I'm really starting to think it was Giuliani or that weak ponce Don Jr. Those guy are creepy. You can tell just by looking at them that they are goddam stoolpigeons.
