I will not expect much enthusiasm after 10-11 PM ET election night. The liberal tears & head explosions will follow.

This is about the time (perhaps in 4-5 days) the media polls 538, RCP, NYTimes, etc start to show a "dramatic" tightening of the race. This is simply accomplished by turning off the ridiculous dem oversampling.

Agreed all around. Definitely just a personal opinion. But I think Trump is done in two weeks.

On the voter side, a significant part of his appeal has been that he is a "winner" (yeah, I know, I know). That part of his image takes a hit after losing to "Sleepy Joe Biden". So MAGAs won't be quite as enamored.

On Trump's side, I don't think he ever wanted to be POTUS. Why would he run again? The only reason I can think of is that he thinks he can stay out of jail for four years and then regain imunity by becoming POTUS once again. But that seems like a tortuous path and, to me at least, not one that is very likely to be chosen.

I do some betting on PI and the last week has been rough for pro-Dem bets. Trump has surged a bit.

Maybe not in the headline 'Who will win the electoral college' but in the other bets like who will control the house and senate. WIth no news to trigger that.

How is going from prior mayor to press secretary a demotion? He is currently teaching at Notre Dame and runs a PAC. The WH press secretary is sorely in need of rehabilitation. The clowns Trump in the position have destroyed the credibility of the office. Pete is a pretty good fix it guy. He would be a good choice to fix that office for a year or so, and move into something else. The guy is not even 40 years old yet. He has a lot of upside and should get a position where he is in the public eye getting positive messages out which are true; not the Trump liefest that parrots Trump himself.

It's a way to be in the national spotlight and learn how to talk policy

but you will be remembered as an employee - a mouthpiece of the president and not a chief exectutive or lawmaker.

And you will have a very rich vein of statements for your political opposition to mine and use against you.
